The huge pit of terracotta warriors and horses is only a small part of the periphery of the mausoleum. All the treasures collected after Qin Shihuang unified the six countries were buried in the underground palace. There is astronomy on the palace of Qin Shihuang's mausoleum and geography under it. The ceiling of the underground palace is engraved with a map of the sun, the moon and the stars, which can draw a relatively complete map of 28 stars. The lower part is the geography of mountains and rivers represented by mercury. Lying in the underground palace, Qin Shihuang can still look up at astronomy and geography and still rule everything. Modern scientific research has confirmed that mercury is buried in the underground palace of the Qin tombs.
Sima Qian described the treasures in Qin Shihuang's underground palace with "strange things and monsters moving to hide". And "since ancient times, no burial has been the first emperor." All these indicate that Qin Shihuang's underground palace will not lack treasures. The large painted bronze chariots and horses unearthed on the west side of the underground palace are exquisite in shape and decoration, which is rare in the world. Therefore, it is conceivable how many funerary objects there are in the underground palace.
