The story of Blood Diamond took place in Sierra Leone during the civil war in the 1990s. The main characters are former Zimbabwean mercenary Leonardo asir and fisherman djimon hounsou. Just like these two people with different historical backgrounds and living environments, they shouldn't have any intersection, but their fates are closely linked by a rare pink diamond. In Africa, such diamonds can really change a person's life … or end that person's life.
Solomon was originally just an ordinary fisherman, but he was forced to leave his family to mine diamonds in troubled times. In the process of mining, Solomon found a rare pink diamond and took the risk to hide it. He knew that if things got out, he would die. But in order to change the fate of his wife and daughter as refugees, and more importantly, to save the life of the young soldier's son Dia, he decided to take risks. But it was soon exposed that the rebel leader threatened his son's life and demanded that he hand over the diamond at once. Solomon had no choice but to go back to look for diamonds, but on the way, he was arrested by Sierra Leone government forces as a rebel soldier and put in prison.
Danny makes a living by buying and selling diamonds and arms. He is a warmonger through and through. When he was imprisoned for smuggling, he learned that Solomon had diamonds in his possession. He realized that this might be the only chance in his life to leave Africa forever, and to leave this vicious circle full of violence and corruption forever. But first, he must get out of prison. Now he can only rely on Jennifer Lynn Connelly, an American journalist who has only met once.
Mandy is an idealist. She came to Sierra Leone to expose the shady diamond trading and find out the warlords who profited from diamonds regardless of their lives. She wants to use Danny as a clue to find the truth, but she doesn't know that Danny needs her more at this time-to get him and Solomon out of prison.
With the help of McGrady, the two left the prison and began to trudge within the fire range of the rebels. Danny needs Solomon to take him to find diamonds, but Solomon is absorbed in something more precious than diamonds-his son. ...
