According to archaeology, people landed in Qingpu District 7000 years ago. The present Songze Village is near the East China Sea at that time. This is a swamp with low altitude and high groundwater level. There are mountains, mounds, trees and lush aquatic plants in the west and south, which is one of the areas suitable for ancient humans to live in. Songze discovered antiquities when farmers dug ponds in 1958, and then carried out two excavations in a planned way in 196 1 and 1974, and dug up 100 ancient tombs, as well as a large number of stone tools, jade articles, bone implements and tools. 1982 At the annual archaeological conference in China, it was determined that this site was between Majia culture with Jiaxing as the center and Liangzhu culture with Yuyao as the center, and it was named Songze culture.
In Songze 6000 years ago, people's livelihood changed from primitive fishing, hunting and picking to animal husbandry and agriculture. The tools of production are mainly stone tools, and plowing has been carried out, from the Paleolithic age, which used primitive stone tools, to the Neolithic age, which used more refined stone tools. Judging from the unearthed rice and rice leaves, Songze was able to cultivate japonica rice and indica rice artificially more than 6,000 years ago, and at this time, it was already possible to manufacture ceramic pots with various shapes and uses.
Two wells of Majia family culture discovered in Songze more than 6,000 years ago, with straight shaft, smooth shaft wall, abundant water sources and animal bones, are the earliest wells discovered in China so far. The technology is also very advanced, and its modeling is still in use today.
Many cemeteries are rich in quality and colorful, which indicates that the production, life and cultural development of Songze people 6000 years ago have reached a certain stage.
