The purpose of the virus is to multiply endlessly. Once it finds a suitable host, it will inject its genetic information into the host cell, copy it, use some amino acids in the host cell to make a protein shell, and finally crack the host cell, escape from the host body, become a crystal, and continue this career.
If there are antibodies in the host that can kill this antigen, it is impossible for the virus to multiply indefinitely without dying. If the host cell does not have this ability, the virus will devour the host. If the host cell is not exhausted, it should be immortal in theory ... but the host will die one day and the virus can't help it. Reproduction is its only purpose, so it has to crystallize and escape from useless hosts.
