There is a fat batch of the words "the court is the most accurate" under the word "the court burned empty". Only by finding the source of the word "Ting Liao" can we know the implied meaning of this word. The original meaning of "Liao" is to put fine grass and branches on the ground and light them in piles. Before the Spring and Autumn Period in China, it was generally used to worship heaven, that is, to burn sacrifices. Biography of the Book of Rites says that "the wood is in God". In Shuo Wen Jie Zi, it is said that "firewood, burning firewood, is also a sacrifice to heaven." The Book of Rites says "offering firewood to heaven". The court meteor in the Zhou Meteor Festival is a ceremony to burn a fire in the courtyard at night to worship the sky. "Zhou Li" and Qiu Guan's "Siheng" said: "Every national event must have its grave burned." Zheng Xuan's note: "The grave is big, the tree outside the door says big candles, and the door says the court is burning, all of which shine for the public." It means that when the Zhou Dynasty Palace held a ceremony, it was called "big candle" outside the door, and the smaller one inside the door was called "Pavilion Liao", which was actually a torch inserted underground. Lantern Festival evolved gradually from the ceremony of burning the sky, and the candles of later generations also evolved from "court burning". Because the torch can't burn for a long time, people use oily thin sticks or reeds, bamboo, hemp and so on. Wrap them up to extend the lighting time. Ting Liao in the Book of Songs Xiaoya wrote: "Night, it's still early, the light of Ting Liao". Especially some torches made of bamboo poles, after the bamboo poles burn, the air in the bamboo seams expands, and the bamboo cavity bursts and crackles, which is the origin of firecrackers (called firecrackers in Shandong dialect). At the same time, the ancient court in China was a torch lit in the court during the Spring and Autumn Period when the emperor or vassal received foreign envoys, talents or discussed state affairs, which was the highest standard of reception etiquette.
The use of the allusion "Tingle" in A Dream of Red Mansions has multiple meanings: First, it is related to the origin and return of the Lantern Festival. "Yuanxiao", that is, the disappearance of Princess Yuan after returning to the province, and the first time "after Yuanxiao, it was the time when the smoke was put out", the time of Jia Fu's demise was dark. Secondly, judging from the origin of the palace fireworks and firecrackers, it is said that another Lantern Festival princess sent a homemade lantern riddle from the palace, which "can destroy the demon's courage and make it feel like a bundle of silk." The shock was frightening, and when I looked back, it had turned to dust. Everyone in the Jia family agreed to do a riddle. His father Jia Zheng thought to himself, "The firecrackers made by the Queen are scattered in one voice. Yingchun's abacus is to fight unrest. Tanchun kites are floating things ... Today is the Lantern Festival. Why do people take this ominous thing as a joke? "The riddle of firecrackers, coupled with the opera" Palace of Eternal Life "ordered by Yuan Fei when she returned to her hometown, isomorphic became an omen of her death. This is also a prediction of the final ending of Yuan Fei's family "a bang". Thirdly, as a sacrificial ceremony, it implies that this article is the work of Qin Zhi and his wife who sacrificed for Yuan Fei. Back in the province, Yuan Fei is the elder sister of Zhi Yanzhai and Qin Xi, who are crying. This is Qin Zhi's work mourning the death of two people, which is actually prosperous and sad. This shows that China's classical literature is wonderful in allusion, and there is no such word as "Tingliao".
