In 2008, Dujiangyan Wild Research Center was established in Chengdu Giant Panda Research Base, and related research work on wild training of captive giant pandas was carried out on 20 14. The giant panda "Hesheng" (male) is the first batch of wild released individuals.
The giant panda "Hesheng" entered the Liziping field training ground in March, 20 16. After the field adaptation training in the panda base and Panda Valley, it entered the field environment of Liziping Nature Reserve for training in July.
On September 27th, the GPS collar worn by Hesheng sent an alarm signal, and the researchers and monitoring team immediately organized an overnight search. On the 28th, the staff confirmed that Hesheng had died in Liziping Nature Reserve and found that he had obvious trauma to his right shoulder, right ear and right hind limb.
Experts analyzed and summarized Hesheng's clinical anatomy, pathological examination and microbiological examination, and finally confirmed that Hesheng was attacked by unknown animals, causing systemic bacterial infection and leading to sepsis and death.
