Only prismatic gems can be rewarded by ignoring the slot position. The prismatic gems in version 3.35 include nightmare tears/siren tears.

There is also a prism groove, which allows you to enter the gem at will, but there will be no reward. Forged eternal belt buckles fall into this category.
