The Tubo War in the Tang Dynasty, also known as the Tubo War in the Tang Dynasty, was a war between the Tang Dynasty and Tubo from the 7th century to the 9th century. During and after the Anshi Rebellion, Tubo took the opportunity to control eighteen counties in Longyou and four towns in Anxi, and once captured Chang 'an, the capital of the Tang Dynasty. In the Tang Dynasty, Uighur, Nanzhao and Dashi joined forces to encircle Tubo. In addition, Tubo has been fighting for years, and its national strength has declined greatly. Finally, after the assassination of the last Zambolandama, Tubo split and collapsed in 877. There were eight alliances before and after the Tang Dynasty and Tubo. As Princess Wencheng of Tang Dynasty and Princess Jincheng successively married Tubo Zampa, the relationship between Tang Dynasty and Tubo was also called an uncle-nephew alliance.

Songzan Gambu sent envoys to make peace with the Tang Dynasty in the eighth year of Zhenguan (634), and the Tang Dynasty also sent ministers to Tibet. In the tenth year of Zhenguan (636), Songzan Gambu sent envoys to Chang 'an to get married, which was rejected by the Tang Dynasty. Songzan Gambu led 200,000 troops to invade Tuyuhun under the pretext that Tuyuhun was a vassal of the Tang Dynasty, and the Tang Dynasty sent 50,000 troops, including Hou and Jin Niu, to repel Tuyuhun's attack. Emperor Taizong decided to appease Tubo and marry Princess Wencheng, a distant niece, to Songzan Gambu. Although Tang Jun repelled the Tubo army, the Tang Dynasty also saw the power of Tubo. Later, during the reign of Emperor Taizong, there was no conflict between the Tang Dynasty and Tubo. In the 21st year of Zhenguan (647), when Tang Jun attacked the King Qiuci of the Western Regions, Lily Ribu fell and Emperor Taizong requisitioned the Tubo army. In the 22nd year of Zhenguan (648), Wang Xuance was trapped in politically turbulent India by the Tang Dynasty, and Wang Xuance turned to Tubo and Nepal for help. In the twenty-third year of Zhenguan (649), Wang Xuance led a group of soldiers borrowed from the vassal states of the Tang Dynasty to sweep across India, annihilated the most powerful of the five Indian countries at that time, and captured its king Arona Shun alive. After Emperor Taizong conquered Korea and returned to the Tang Dynasty, Songzan Gambu immediately sent Lu Dongzan to congratulate him. Feng Biao said, "The Holy Son of Heaven pacified the country of the sun and the moon and became a concubine, while Koryo relied on distance and lacked courtesy. The son of heaven received a million dollars and went to Liao to beg for it. Huicheng fell into a trap, just around the corner. Yidi just heard that your majesty had arrived, and he had already heard that he had returned to China when he was young. The geese fly faster than your majesty. A slave needs a son-in-law. He is always happy. Goose, geese, posing as golden geese. "

After he acceded to the throne, he was named King of Xihai County and Xu. In order to show his loyalty, Songzan Gambu wrote to Sun Chang Wuji and other ministers: "The son of heaven has just acceded to the throne. If his deputies are disloyal, they should send troops to this country to get rid of it. " And presented 15 kinds of gold jewelry to Zhaoling. After the death of Songtsan Gampo, although Tubo got rid of the vassal relationship with the Tang Dynasty, Tubo remained a vassal country of the Tang Dynasty.

Until the second year of Longshuo (662), more than ten years after the death of Emperor Taizong and Songzan Gambu, the conflict between Tubo and Tang Dynasty revived because of Tuguhun and the Western Regions. Tubo did not listen to Tang Gaozong's imperial edict, and Tubo perished the following year. In the second year of Longshuo (662), Tubo joined forces with the western Turkic Bow and Moon Department to attack Qiuci, and the following year attacked Shule. In the second year of Linde (665), he attacked Khotan and was pro-Tang. Ashnab Town, which was sealed by the Tang Dynasty, falsely accused Anxi lord protector Su Haizheng of propagating the death of Khan Ashnami that year, and he was shot. The Turks rebelled against the Tang Dynasty and were sealed for two years (667). Ashnaduzhi and Li Zhesi led West Turkic crossbowmen to join Tubo. Tubo temporarily controlled the Wakhan Corridor.
