Method 1: A speaker made of simple cards.
1, first make a cone with color cards. To make a flat cone, you need to cut a circle on the card. The radius of this circle will become the height of the horn.
Draw a perfect circle with a template, pancake or compass. Cut the circle with scissors.
Cut a seam along the outer edge of the circle to the center of the circle. This seam can only be cut along the radius of the circle. Don't cut the circle in half.
Slide one corner of the slit along the outer edge of the circle. When you slide, you will find that a cone is forming and keep sliding until it becomes a very narrow cone.
Nail cone. Nail the cone along the bottom of the cone, that is, the lowest end of the tangent. You can also use double adhesive tape or glue.
A simpler option is to remove the nails or elastic bands from the hat at the party. Then fold it into a tighter cone, and then nail the new cone together again.
2. Punch holes on both sides of the cone. Punch holes on opposite sides near the bottom of the cone with a punch. If you don't have a punch, you can punch two holes in the card with scissors or a pen or something equally sharp. This hole must be at least 0.6 cm wide.
3. Pass the elastic rope through the perforation. The two ends of the elastic rope are wound into a ring through the holes at both ends. Tie or nail the two ends of the elastic rope tightly, so that the loudspeaker made of cards can be completed. The length of the elastic rope is about twice the width of the face of the person who wants to wear the horn.
If there is no elastic rope, you can also choose to use ribbon or yarn. Pass two wires through the holes respectively, and tie the wires together after passing through the holes. Each line must be the wearer's face 10 cm wide.
4. Decorate the corner with some shiny decorations. Before scattering the shiny chips on the corners made of cards, apply glue sticks to the corners. You can get more scintillators by doing this on paper trays, bags or other movable surfaces.
You can also paint dry glue with an old brush.
5. Wrap the corner with a ribbon. Wrap a long ribbon around the speaker from top to bottom before the glue dries. The ribbon must be spirally wound, winding the horn about 2-4 times. The ribbon imitates the spiral groove on the traditional unicorn horn in the picture.
6. Decorate with artificial gem. If necessary, evenly distributed at a certain distance, without symmetry. Mosaic artificial gem is unnecessary.
Before setting the artificial gem, you may need to apply more glue to the back of the stone.
After the gem is set, you have to wait for all the glue to dry. When it's dry, you can wear the unicorn horn.
Method 2: polymer clay horn or plasticine horn
1, decide how you want to wear the horn. If you want to make unicorn horns look like jewelry accessories, you should use polymer clay. If you want to make a bigger unicorn horn that you can wear on your head, you should use air-dried plasticine. Air-dried plasticine is lighter, so it is more suitable for wearing on the head. In contrast, polymer clay is heavier, more wear-resistant, and more suitable for wearing necklaces or bracelets.
2. Choose the right accessories for your speaker. Bead horn jewelry needs a bead cap, and the horn worn on the head needs a headband. Bead cap is a small conical metal fitting, which is used to fix ornaments on jewelry necklaces.
If you want to use a headband, you can try a wider plastic headband. You can also use a headband made of cloth, but the headband should be wide enough to hold the horns of a unicorn.
3. Push out a mud cone for standby. Pinch a part of the clay and knead it into thick strips. Slowly knead one section with your hands until it is thinner than the other end, and finally change its shape into a cone. It may take more attempts to take shape, especially when you are not familiar with pottery.
If you really can't make tapered clay, you can go to a handicraft shop and buy a tapered clay mold.
Use polymer clay with a length of about 1.25 cm as the corner of the ornament, and use plasticine with a length of 7.5- 10 cm as the larger corner.
4. Add a slot. Use a sharp tool, such as a toothpick, to make a spiral ridge around the speaker. Starting from the top, spiral down the corner of the animal horn until you reach the bottom. For larger angles, a tool to remove the epidermis or a larger tool will be more useful.
In order to get the best effect, the angle of holding toothpicks and exfoliating tools should be able to take care of the whole corner.
Smooth out the rough place with your fingers.
5. Make sure that the base of the whole corner can match the accessories. You may need to make some nodules to install the bead cap, or you can flatten the base a little so that the speaker can be connected to the headband.
6. To harden clay, plasticine needs to be dried in the air for several hours, but polymer clay needs to be fired to harden. Most plasticine takes 24 hours to dry.
The baking instructions of polymer clay vary from brand to brand, but most types of clay only need to be baked every 0.6 cm 15 to 20 minutes in an oven set at 130 degrees Celsius.
7. Glue the horn and accessories together. Use epoxy resin or hot melt glue gun to fix the ceramic horn in the bead cap or headband. Please note that many types of epoxy resins take about 24 hours to repair.
The unicorn horn used as a decoration uses stronger glue than the horn worn on the head, but if you want to stick the ceramic horn on the cloth headband, you must find out whether the glue used can be used on the cloth.
Method 3: unicorn horn made of felt
1. Cut a triangle on a white felt. The width of the base of the triangle should be 7.5 to10cm. In order to highlight the "magic" effect of animal horns, shiny white felt is used. You can also use other colors, such as light purple or light blue, but white can restore the shape of the most traditional unicorn horn.
Cut out a triangle with scissors, with both sides as long as possible.
2. Fold the triangle in half and sew it up. Fold the triangle in half vertically, with the left and right sides overlapping. Sew the overlapping edges together with a straight needle by hand. The bottom of the horn is not sealed.
The thread you use should match the color of the felt.
3. Turn the front of the triangle outward. Cut off the excess cloth along the seam with scissors. Push the top of the horn to the bottom that is not tightly sealed, and then turn the front end of the whole horn outward.
4. sew the needle near the top. Thread a needle with a long thread. Tie a big knot at the end of the line. Insert the needle into the horn and pull it out near the top. The knot on the thread should be bigger, so that the thread will not be pulled out of the felt if it is pulled hard.
The length of the wire is three times the length of the horn itself.
Thread the whole thread out, leaving only the thread end inside.
5. Fill the inside of the horn. Fill animal horns with chemical fiber and cotton fillers. Plug the filler tightly, and the corners should not be too soft.
6. Circle this line along the horn of the beast. A silk thread spirally wound along the outside of a corner. Wrap the thread tightly so that it won't lose its original shape because it slides around.
This spiral made of thread imitates the groove on the unicorn horn.
Thread the needle from the bottom of the horn, guide the thread to the inside of the horn, and then tie the knot to draw the needle.
7. Cut a bottom and sew it on. Place the horn on the matching felt and draw a circle along the outer edge of the base. Cut it out and sew it on the base of the horn by hand. Put the cut circle on the bottom of the horn. Sew along the edge of the circle from the inside and connect it with thread from the inside to cover the seam marks.
8. Connect the horns with the somersaults. Glue the bottom of unicorn horn directly to the wide cloth head belt with hot melt adhesive or fabric adhesive. You can also sew or stick a wider elastic band on the speaker, and then adjust the elastic band to the size of the headband.
Add some other decorations if necessary. To look more interesting, you can stick flowers made of felt, craft gems and fake leaves on your headband.
Method 4: Turn some items into unicorn horns.
1, icicles for Christmas decoration. Decorative plastic icicles are just like the horns of a real unicorn. Turn them upside down and make a hole, then install a screw to connect the headband. Do not use glass or ceramic icicles.
2. Use shells. Some shells are very similar to the horns of unicorns, so if you can find shells that look like horns, you can turn them into horns. Paint it white (or sprinkle it with shiny pieces) and fix it on the headband with glue or thread. Sometimes shells are packaged and sold in handicraft shops. Look for a special shell that looks like a horn.
