Since then, Ma Muliang has further developed into three areas of Beijing court woodcarving, such as classical furniture, interior decoration and small wooden blocks. His works can continuously meet the different needs of customers from all walks of life and are highly praised. His woodcarving work "Beijing Siheyuan" won the first prize of China Arts and Crafts Hundred Flowers Award Excellent Works; 1999, the woodcarving "Century Chime" designed by him won the major contribution award of China Academy of Sciences; In 2004, Yin He, the emblem of Beijing Olympic Games, won the 2005 Beijing Treasure Award. The large-scale jadeite "China Buddha Rhyme" wooden base designed by him won the Hundred Flowers Award Gold Award from China Light Industry Jewelry Center and Asian Jewelry Federation. Because of his outstanding achievements in Beijing woodcarving, in 2003, he was rated as a master of Beijing arts and crafts by the Beijing Traditional Arts and Crafts Review Committee.
In the face of unsatisfactory achievements, Ma Muliang made further efforts on how to inherit the woodcarving skills of Beijing court. He will devote himself to studying skills for many years, summarizing and sorting out, and has published three books: Woodcarving Pattern, Woodcarving Pattern Continuation and China Decoration Atlas. Because of tradition, information and practicality, these works are constantly reprinted. The woodcarving patterns and dragon and phoenix atlas published this time is Mr. Ma Muliang's unique experience in studying traditional patterns, and I think it will definitely give some useful enlightenment to colleagues.
