Peking University Gem Appraisal Center is the first jewelry testing and appraisal unit in China to obtain the laboratory accreditation certificate of China National Accreditation Committee for Conformity Assessment and the first batch of measurement certification qualification certificates of China National Certification and Accreditation Administration (1994). Since the 1980s, the center has equipped 15 sets of relatively advanced large, medium and small detection and identification instruments, and the detection and identification instruments and equipment for precious stones and precious metal materials are basically matched. Peking University Geology Department has a strong faculty and technical force, including many well-known experts in the jewelry industry such as Professor Wang Shiqi and high-quality jewelry and jade appraisal technicians, and has a strong academic atmosphere. The center currently has 45 employees, including 5 with senior titles/kloc-0 and 8 with intermediate titles. This team is the strong backing of Peking University Gem Appraisal Center. As of July, 20 13, there are 26 people directly engaged in gem detection and appraisal, 2 people (Mr. Wang Changqiu and Mr. He Zhihong) have obtained the qualification certificate of national registered gem appraiser (CGC), and 12 people have obtained the Gemstone Association of China.
