What is the decorative arts movement?
This is a movement in decorative arts, but it also affects the style of architectural design. Its name comes from the World Expo held in Paris in 1925. When it became the main artistic style in Europe in the early 1960s, it was not popular in America.

About 1928, it didn't become popular in the United States until the 1930 s when modernism prevailed. Although the word ArtDeco was created in the Expo of 1925, it was not widely used until the 1960s, and its practitioners did not cooperate as a unified design community.
