For thousands of years, eyes have been the theme of jewelry design. In ancient times, evil eyes represented the return of negative energy to the source, which also meant bringing happiness, love, success and wealth to the wearer. In European and American cultures, the legendary evil eye means that an evil glance can lead to misfortune, disease and even death. Later, it became an amulet of rebound.
The legend of the evil eye goes like this. Once upon a time, a rich man took a fancy to a fat cow passing by his house. He said to his wife, I have never seen a more beautiful cow than this fat cow. The rich man watched and the fat cow fell to the ground and was killed. His wife immediately picked up a knife and cut meat from the cow. In the story, people say that the eyes of the rich are jealous. They think this kind of eye has terrible power, and it killed the cow. This means that gaze can be regarded as a kind of strength. If someone looks at something with greedy eyes when they want to possess it, it will give people a terrible feeling.
No one will feel comfortable being stared at with malicious eyes. In the early days around the Aegean Sea, light-colored eyes were rare. In early culture, people with green eyes, especially those with blue eyes, were considered cursed. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, their eyes are also considered to have the power of cursing. This is why both Greece and Turkey use blue eyes as a rebound amulet.
