Abahai is Princess Bellemantai of Hercynian Jurchen Ulabu. She married Nurhachi on 160 1. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, the various departments of Nuzhen in Northeast China rose in succession, competing for novelty and beauty. Hercynian Jurchen's Wula department has a vast territory, and its troops are stronger than Mazhuang, especially powerful, and it is at odds with Nurhachi.
In the 21st year of Wanli (1593), nine coalition forces that Wula participated in attacked Hetuala, the base of Nurhachi, with 30,000 people. Nurhachi wins more with less. Bubooth, the leader of Wula Department, was captured alive, saying that he surrendered to the country and vowed to make up. In order to please Jianzhou, Bubooth personally sent Abahai, a niece of 12 years old, to Hetuala and married Nurhachi, who was 3 1 year older than her, as a side Fujin. 1603 After the death of Meng Gu, the elder princess, Abahai was named Dafujin and gave birth to sons: Azig, Dourgen and Duoduo. Nurhachi's love for Abahai is also evident in his three sons. When they were young, they were given the same flag soldiers and banners as their brothers.
When Nurhachi was dying, he called Abahai to serve the left and right. It is speculated that he is likely to negotiate with Abahai to establish a protected area, and even use the right to reward and remonstrate to interfere in political affairs. For Huang taiji, the Dourgen brothers became the biggest obstacle and competitor for the position of Khan.
Nurhachi did not formally determine a successor at that time. So after Nurhachi's death, the ownership of Khan became a big problem. At that time, there were four Baylor (Daishan, A Min, Mangutai and Huang Taiji) and four Baylor (Azig, Dourgen, Duoduo and JiErlang) who were the most powerful in the royal family. Among them, Huang Taiji and the other three (Azig, Dourgen and Duoduo) became the focus of contention for the position of Khan. According to Nurhachi's theory of "sweating * * * pushing", Huang Taiji was elected as the new Khan. However, what the new Khan is worried about at this time is that the other three brothers who hold the post of Baylor are all from the same mother Abahai, and this mother was Nurhachi's only companion and his princess royal. Many people even speculate that the reason why Nurhachi has never determined an heir is to vacillate between the sons of Huang Taiji and Abahai, waiting for Abahai's sons to make more contributions and give them a chance. In the days before Nurhachi died, only Abahai was assigned to wait on him. Therefore, for competitors such as Huang Taiji and Dai Shan, she is the most deadly opponent. They are worried that she can use the power of "saving her life" to appoint the right to reward and criticize, and disturb the world. In order to eradicate Abahai and make three young Baylers lose their support, Huang Taiji led all Baylers to force Abahai to die with him.
On August 12, in Yin Shi (3-5 am), Dai Shan announced the news of Huang Taiji's succession. Abahai, whose husband just died, did not respond to the news, because it was pushed by the royal family after all. However, another news was announced in Shi Mao (5 am to 7 am):
The first emperor had already given orders to the kings-big princess was buried. This news made Abahai hear like thunder. It never occurred to her that the day her husband died was her own death. Although there was still the custom of martyrdom in the Jurchen society at that time, as a martyrdom wife, first of all, she must be the beloved wife of the deceased, and secondly, there is no young son to take care of. It is not allowed to bury an undesirable wife for her husband, and most of the martyred women are concubines with lower status. This was also observed during the period of Huang Taiji. However, in the eyes of Huang Taiji and others, although Dourgen and Duoduo are young and need the care of their mothers, they have as many flag soldiers and powers as their brothers, and Abahai is princess royal. Whoever inherits Khan's position will be restrained by him and be in danger of being replaced, so Abahai must be put to death.

"A Record of Emperor Taizu of the Qing Dynasty" notes: "After the kings told the emperor's last words, they prevaricated. The kings said that the first emperor had a life, but although he wanted to disobey it, he couldn't get it. After that, he put on a dress and decorated it with jewels ... He committed suicide on the 12 th of 1911 and lived for 37 years. " Abahai was in great pain before committing suicide. She cried and said to the kings, "I have been serving the late emperor for twenty-six years since I was twelve." I can't bear to be separated from my late emperor. I'd rather go underground. I hope you can be kind to my children. " When the king with considerable power headed by Huang Taiji asked Abahai to be martyred in the name of "the last words of the emperor", she was "hesitant". The so-called "prevarication" is nothing more than putting forward Nurhachi's last words that she saw with her own eyes, or suggesting that a son is too young to be martyred. Only under the threat of "the first emperor had a life, though he didn't want it, he couldn't get it" did he have to be martyred.
Nurhachi died in August, that is, on the 11th, and Ulan Ala Abahai died in August, that is, on the 12th. He "committed suicide" and left the palace with Nurhachi. At the same time, there were two little princesses who died, Azigen and Dai Yincha.
