Gold (forged or unwrought) has zero export tariff and zero value-added tax. However, import and export declaration requires an import and export license issued by the People's Bank of China. As gold is a resource material restricted from leaving the country by the state, any unit or individual must have special permission materials issued by the People's Bank of China to export gold, and outbound passengers should also take the initiative to apply to the customs for carrying gold, and the quantity is limited to the legal quantity for their own use (generally not more than 50g).
