Universities of Applied Sciences in western Yunnan (hereinafter referred to as "Yunnan University") is the first batch of Universities of Applied Sciences approved by the Ministry of Education from 2065438 to April 2005. On May 20 17, the school was formally established with the approval of the Ministry of Education. As a new type of ordinary public undergraduate college, Yunnan West University mainly cultivates applied advanced technical and technical talents urgently needed by regional economic and social development.
Fully drawing lessons from the German and Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences model, Yunnan West University adopts an open school-running framework with its headquarters and several characteristic colleges and applied technology research institutes (1+N+M) as the main body, and an integrated school-running model of "politics, production, learning, research and application", in accordance with the principles of "hierarchical governance, integration of production and education, demand-driven, cooperative school-running, open connection and * *.
The school is headquartered in Dali City, Dali Prefecture, Yunnan Province, with a planned land area of 329 mu and a total construction area of about 6,543,800 square meters. The first batch of three characteristic colleges: Dai Medicine College (located in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Prefecture), Pu 'er Tea College (located in Simao District, Pu 'er City) and Jewelry College (located in Tengchong City, Baoshan); 2065438+In May 2008, the School of Management directly under the school was formally established. The school fully grafted the high-quality educational resources of "985" and "2 1 1" key universities directly under the Ministry of Education. At present, it has received all-round support from Beijing Normal University, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Northeast Normal University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China Geo University (Wuhan), Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology, Yunnan University, Kunming University of Science and Technology, Yunnan Agricultural University and Dali University. Cooperate with Pu 'er Tea Group, Oriental Jinyu, Yunnan Branch of Institute of Medicinal Plants of China Academy of Medical Sciences and other scientific research institutes and industrial enterprises to run schools, and carry out regular study visits with many subordinate universities to realize the three-dimensional training of high-level technical and technical talents.
In order to play a pilot and demonstration role as soon as possible, Yunnan Provincial Department of Education agreed that Dali College, Pu 'er College and Baoshan College would carry out comprehensive training cooperation in rehabilitation, tea science and arts and crafts in 20 16. Each of the three undergraduate programs enrolls 100 students, including 300 students. In 20 17, the school successfully completed the enrollment plan of 480 students in six majors: rehabilitation therapy, Dai medicine, Chinese medicine, tea science, gem and material technology and product design. At present, students of grade 20 17 have successfully transferred to various characteristic colleges to start their studies in the new academic year. In 20 18, the school added seven undergraduate enrollment majors (health service and management, marketing, logistics management, food science and engineering, plant science and technology, resource recycling science and engineering, leisure sports) and three majors (arts and crafts design, jewelry technology and management, leisure sports), and planned to enroll 1050 students (including 96540).
