Why didn't Lin Daiyu inherit the Lin family's property?
Affectionate boys and girls in the world only see the pure feelings of Baoyu and Daiyu. It seems that they are all immortal figures who live only for their feelings and don't eat human fireworks. In fact, whether it's Brother Bao who doesn't want to do a career in Wenda or Sister Lin who looks at flowers and tears, money is indispensable for a day. And money is the decisive factor for the two to get close at first and finally break up. The so-called "pre-alliance" not only refers to the love of Bao Dai, but also refers to the fact that Jia and Erh Lin people had some kind of contract from the beginning-in fact, in that era, marriage between men and women was the least important factor to consider. Whether Baoyu and Daiyu themselves, or Jia Mu, Xifeng and others, almost all decided that Baoyu and Daiyu would become husband and wife from the beginning. This is by no means that Jia people are as open-minded as modern people and think that feelings are the foundation of marriage. But there is something far beyond feelings, which determines that people take the marriage between Baoyu and Daiyu for granted. Later, great changes took place in the Jia family. Baochai married Baoyu instead of Daiyu for the greater benefit of the family. The reason, I think, is that all the property of the Lins belongs to the Jia family. The transfer of this property was agreed by Lin Ruhai before his death, but only if the Jia family raised Daiyu and Daiyu eventually became the daughter-in-law of the Lins. Some people may think that the feelings of Baoyu and Daiyu are mixed with money, which seems to desecrate their feelings. I think on the contrary, because of Jia and Lin's passionate love, Jia's elders began to acquiesce and even encourage their free emotional development-otherwise, Jia's family was so lively, how could two adolescent men and women be allowed to be so close? After all, the etiquette of men's and women's defense can't be invalid for the Jia family, not to mention Baoyu's father, a Taoist model like Jia Zheng. In the end, Daiyu's lack of money made her feel cheated, which was tragic. First, let's analyze whether Lin Ruhai has a heritage. How much legacy there is. Lin Ruhai can't be a poor official. When Harry died like that, he didn't even have money for the coffin. I'm not saying that Lin Ruhai is corrupt. His last job was to inspect the salt empire. I don't need to repeat how important this position is. The officials in charge of salt affairs in Ming and Qing dynasties were all recognized as fat people, but what was the gold content of the officials sent by the imperial court to inspect salt affairs around the world? There is no need to be particularly greedy in such a position. As long as it conforms to the "hidden rules" of the officialdom at that time, it is an amazing number to collect some formal money for charcoal worship, ice worship, festival worship and birthday celebration according to the rules of the scene. Can Lin Ruhai take this kind of money? I don't think so. Officials who don't even want their usual money, such as Harry, are rare. If Lin Ruhai does this, he can't hold such a key position, because he will offend a huge interest class if he doesn't accept the money from the following salt officials and salt merchants. He recommended to Jia Fu a "seemingly talented but actually treacherous" Jia Yucun who participated in the political reform, thus being restored, which shows that he is well versed in officialdom. Cao Xueqin received a good education, and Lin Ruhai must be given an official position to handle money, not those poor officials who do not. Maybe this is a hint that the Lins are rich. Lin Ruhai's long-term occupation of the salt patrol empire is only one reason why the Lins are rich, and another reason is that four generations of Lins have been waiting. When they arrived in Lin Ruhai, they lost their status, but they were born in Hakka. "Although it is a Shilu family, it is a scholar family." The shadow and fame of this ancestor were tied to the sea, and it was a strong alliance at that time. Among the five titles, Jia Fu started with Ning and Rong, Baoyu was the fourth generation, and the male was only one title higher than Hou. Therefore, it can be said that Fu Lin is not necessarily worse than Jiafu. There is another factor to consider, the Lins are not rich, and it is a single biography of several generations-this shows that several generations have not analyzed the family property, unlike the Jia family, which has a large population and heavy daily expenses. The property of the Five Dynasties belongs to Jia Xue, which is not inferior to any family. This property consists of two parts, one is houses and fields purchased by ancestors, and the other is gold, silver and jewels. Almost all of Lin Ruhai's legacy belongs to Jia Fu, which is by no means my groundless speculation. Many friends and I have similar views. What needs to be analyzed now is how to legally change this part of the money from "Lin" to "Jia", which needs to overcome many technical obstacles. Lin Ruhai is dead. According to the general principle at that time, who will inherit this huge legacy? Lin Ruhai comes from a childless family. In the imperial era, although daughters did not have the same inheritance rights as sons. However, according to the funeral order of the Tang Dynasty, in a "homeless" family, the woman in the house can get half of the property of her unmarried brother as a dowry. The inheritance way of the barren family in the Southern Song Dynasty is that there is no man to inherit it. There are two ways to set up an heir. Where "the husband died and his wife was there", Li Ji followed his wife, the so-called "Li Ji". In the case of "both husband and wife are dead", Li Ji follows his elders and relatives, which is called "life inheritance". Stepsons and unmarried daughters have inheritance rights, but only unmarried women have 3/4 inheritance rights, and stepsons have 1/4 inheritance rights. Only married women (married women), married women enjoy the inheritance right of 1/3, stepchildren enjoy 1/3, and others 1/3 belong to the government. How did this tradition change in the Ming and Qing Dynasties? Although the inheritance rights of women in Ming and Qing dynasties were not as good as those in Song dynasty, according to the customary law at that time, Daiyu should get a considerable amount of inheritance-because Daiyu was an out-and-out servant girl. Jia Fu should thoroughly dispose of the Lins' heritage, and the most important thing is to obtain the custody of Daiyu, so as to prevent the Lins from establishing an heir for Lin Ruhai. Is it possible for Lin Ruhai to adopt a stepson from his nephews? The fifty-seventh time, Zijuan tested Baoyu and lied that Daiyu would be taken back to Suzhou by the Lins. Baoyu doesn't believe it. Zi Juan said, "You look down on people too much! Your Jia family is a large family with a large population. Except your family, there is only one father and one mother. Is there really no one at home? " Zi Juan's fabrication is not groundless. The best time for Lin Ruhai to succeed is when his son dies and decides not to marry his second wife. The last time was when he was seriously ill. At this point, the Jia family has no reason to stop him from following his nephew Yu Yi's family. "There are three kinds of unfilial, and nothing is great." Why did Lin Ruhai voluntarily give up his successor after waiting for the door? -I'm afraid it's hard for the Lins to give him incense. Then there is only one explanation: Jia Fu rejected Lin Ruhai's idea with some kind of promise. We know that Mr. and Mrs. Lin Ruhai love this precious daughter very much. If you adopt a nephew, you must take great risks: since Lin Daiyu has a brother, there is no reason to go to grandma's house for foster care. Living with the so-called stepbrother, it is unknown whether her rights and interests are protected, such as living expenses, spiritual freedom, dowry and so on. It is difficult for disadvantaged women to claim their rights. What should the Jia family do if they ask grandma to be the guardian? Of course, there was no word "guardian" at that time, but the meaning was similar. According to the current marriage and family law, if a minor has no parents, grandparents and foreign parents are natural heirs. In the patriarchal society at that time, it was difficult for people with foreign surnames to be guardians unless their parents intended to "entrust orphans" before their death. It can be boldly imagined that Jia Fu took advantage of Lin Ruhai's concern about Daiyu's future, taking the protection of Daiyu's legitimate rights and interests as the biggest reason, and applied both hard and soft measures, knowing with emotion and moving with courtesy, thus dispelling Lin Ruhai's idea of being a neutral heir in his own race. It can be further speculated that Lin Ruhai and Jia Fu made a very detailed agreement on the disposal of the Lins' property before his death. For example, the Lins' property belongs to Jiafu together with Daiyu, which is essentially a dowry for Daiyu. Baoyu and Daiyu must be married-they are about the same age. After Jia Min's death, Daiyu went to Jiafu for several years and had deep feelings for Baoyu. This is also a natural thing. It is not even ruled out that if Baoyu and Daiyu have several sons, one of them will change his surname to Lin and inherit the incense-in addition to the son-in-law changing his surname, this is also a way for daughters to inherit their parents' inheritance in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. With this promise, Lin Ruhai can die safely. With their own meaning and Jia Fu's influence, there is nothing the Lins can do with the industry. As a son-in-law, Lin Ruhai may think that the Jia family is reluctant to part with Daiyu, and there is no need to conclude a written contract-this kind of commitment is not only difficult to put into words, but also embarrassing to clearly announce to the public, which is almost a conscience contract based on mutual trust. When he was seriously ill, Jia insisted that Jia Lian take it and still brought it back. It is natural to talk about it. "Jia Lian is the first person in Fu Rongmen Town, and he is a heavyweight. It can be seen that Jia Fu was preparing to accept an orphan girl at that time-of course, Jia Jia can't be said to love money. It is natural for her to love her granddaughter, and she is willing to take in this orphan girl out of affection. But this is not contradictory with the Jia family's appropriation of the Lin family's property. In addition, it is also true that Jia Mu and others recognized Daiyu as Baoyu's fiancee. Please note that after Lin Ruhai's death, Jia Lian and Dai Yu escorted Lin Ruhai's coffin back to Suzhou. At this time, the Jia family is holding a grand funeral. When Jia Lian was so busy, he specially sent Ban Zhao to Jia's house. "Show it to the old lady, see how grandma's house is, and ask her to bring some heavy hair clothes." When Jia Lian left Jia Fu, he once told me that "it goes without saying that everything should be covered by indigenous methods." Do people like Jia Fu and Fu Lin still need to go home and get heavy hair clothes? It is true to ask the old lady what to do with Fu Lin's property, and it is also an excuse to bring clothes. Before Wang Xifeng could ask Jia Lian in front of everyone, she saw Zhao Er alone at night. I'm afraid there are more secret things to tell Jia Lian, that is, how to find a way to do something in the operation of annexing the Lins' property and earn more money for their own coffers. Daiyu buried her father and went back to Jia's house. In Baoyu's eyes, "the more he changes, the more detached he is." Of course, because my father died, I suddenly became sensible, and there is another reason. It should be the intelligent Daiyu. Although she is young, she vaguely knows that her money belongs to her grandmother's family and has a certain relationship with Baoyu. It seems that a girl who loves spring has a big secret in her heart, so she is not as free as before with Baoyu.
