Chapter 4 of Code for Architectural Design of Museums
Article 4. 1. 1 The collection protection shall include the requirements of temperature and humidity, moisture-proof, waterproof, light-proof, smoke-proof, harmful gas-proof, insect-proof, rat-proof, theft-proof and so on. Other requirements such as fire prevention and lightning protection shall conform to this professional specification, and the relevant provisions in Chapters 5 and 6 of this specification shall be implemented.

Article 4. 1.2 The thermal insulation requirements of the enclosure structure of the collection warehouse and showroom shall be reasonably determined according to the indoor temperature and humidity requirements, local outdoor meteorological calculation parameters and whether heating, ventilation, air conditioning and other equipment are provided. Doors and windows should be sealed, the thermal inertia index (D) of the external wall should not be less than 4, and the thermal inertia index (D) of the roof should not be less than 3.

Article 4. 1.3 When the collection warehouse and showroom are provided with heating, the total thermal resistance (Ro) of the envelope should be designed according to the minimum total thermal resistance calculated in the current Code for Thermal Design of Civil Buildings (JGJ24), with the external wall increasing by 20% and the roof increasing by 30%.

Article 4. 1.4 When the collection warehouse and showroom are equipped with air conditioning, the heat transfer coefficient (Ko) of the envelope can be adopted with reference to the recommended value in the current Code for Design of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (JJ19).

Article 4. 1.5 When the collection warehouse and showroom are not equipped with heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, the total thermal resistance (Ro) of the external wall should not be less than 0.66 ㎡ k/w, and the total thermal resistance (Ko) of the roof should not be less than 0.90 ㎡ k/w. ..

Article 4. 1.6 The collection warehouse shall be provided with metal plate windows, glass windows, metal plate doors and metal fence doors with a thickness of not less than 0.8 mm; If heating and air conditioning equipment is installed, closed insulation measures should be taken.

Article 4. 1.7 The greening design should choose tree species that are beneficial to cooling, dust retention and air purification, and should not choose tree species that are prone to insect pests and flying flowers, and should prevent them from being planted on aproll slopes or drains near collection warehouses and showrooms. Article 4.2. 1. Air-conditioning equipment should be installed in the warehouse where treasures sensitive to temperature and humidity changes are collected.

Article 4.2.2 The temperature of the collection warehouse equipped with air conditioning equipment should not be lower than 10℃ in winter and higher than 26℃ in summer, and the relative humidity should be kept basically stable, and its parameters should be determined according to the material category of the collection. See Table 4.2.2 for the recommended values.

Table 4.2.2 Collected Relative Humidity

Collect the relative humidity of material category (%)

40 ~ 50 pieces of gold and silver wares, bronzes, ancient coins, ceramics, stone tools, jade articles, glass, etc.

50 ~ 60 paper paintings, textiles, wax leaf plant specimens, etc.

Bamboo, wood, rattan, lacquer, bone, ivory, ancient biochemical stone, etc. 55-65.

Tomb murals, etc. 45 ~ 55

General animal and plant specimens and so on. 40 ~ 60

Article 4.2.3 The relative humidity of the collection warehouse without air conditioning equipment should not be greater than 70%, and the relative humidity difference between day and night should be controlled within 5%, and the principle of constant humidity and variable temperature should be implemented. Article 4.3. 1 Roof drainage system shall prevent leakage; The underground room and ground of the collection warehouse should have reliable moisture-proof measures.

Article 4.3.2 Pools and fountains should not be arranged near collection warehouses and showrooms. Article 4.4. 1 The window glass thickness of the collection warehouse shall not be less than 3mm, and diffusion glass or other devices to prevent direct sunlight shall be adopted. For warehouses with special photosensitive collections, you can choose glass that filters ultraviolet rays and absorbs infrared rays, or filter glass.

Article 4.4.2 Incandescent lamps shall be used for indoor lighting of collections warehouses and exhibits that are particularly sensitive to light, and shading devices shall be provided. The general lighting of the exhibition room should use light sources with less ultraviolet rays.

Article 4.4.3 The total illumination of the showroom shall be determined according to the types of exhibits, and the recommended values are shown in Table 4.4.3.

Table 4.4.3 Recommended Illumination Values of Exhibits

Recommended illuminance value (LX) of exhibit category

Not sensitive to light: metal, stone, glass, ceramics, jewelry, enamel, enamel, etc. ≤300 (color temperature ≤6500K).

Sensitive to light: bamboo, wood, rattan, lacquer, bone, oil painting, murals, horn products, natural leather, animal specimens, etc. ≤ 180 (color temperature ≤4000K).

Especially sensitive to light: paper paintings, textiles, printed matter, gum color paintings, dyed leather, plant specimens, etc. ≤50 (color temperature ≤2900K). Article 4.5. 1 If the daily average concentration of smoke or harmful gases in the atmospheric environment exceeds the standard, measures should be taken to filter and purify the fresh air in the collection warehouses and showrooms with ventilation or air conditioning. The concentration limit shall comply with the provisions in Table 4.5. 1

Table 4.5. 1 smoke and harmful gas concentration limits

Concentration limit of pollutant category (mg/m2)
