Zhao was born in a poor family.
When I was a little older, a good woman in Chair Zhao entered the palace as a maid-in-waiting, belonging to Yang Afei's family, and studied singing and dancing. It is named Yan Fei, because its dance is as light as the swallow and the phoenix dance.
Han Hongjia for three years
Emperor Han Chengdi traveled incognito, came to Yang Afei's mansion and fell in love with Zhao. Emperor Han Chengdi took her back to the palace. In the same year, my sister Zhao Hede was recruited into the palace, and all the sisters were named as Jieyu, a noble harem.
The first year forever

The nephew of Empress Dowager Cixi, Chun Yuchang, communicated on the establishment of Zhao as the queen.

Zhaoyang House, the palace where Zhao Hede lived, was extremely luxurious, with bright red atrium and fresh paint. The threshold is decorated with brass and painted with gold. The steps of the upper temple are made of white jade, and the bars exposed on the inner walls of the temple are decorated with gold rings. At the same time, it is embedded with lantian jade wall, pearls and jade feathers, which is the most luxurious of all palaces. I have never seen such a luxurious palace since I recorded my harem in the Han Dynasty.
Miscellanies of Xijing also gives a long description of the luxury and richness of Zhao's sister's residence. Although Zhao sisters have been spoiling the harem for more than ten years, they have no children. The explanation in Yan Fei's rumor is that two sisters always use Xiji pills to keep beautiful, which leads to infertility.
The first year in He Sui
Liu Xin, the king of Dingtao, came to Chang 'an, and his grandmother, Empress Fu, bribed Zhao sisters privately with many gold, silver and precious fabrics to get through the joints. With their help, Emperor Han Cheng, who had never had children, established his nephew Prince Wei Liu.
The following spring, seven years ago, 46-year-old Cheng Di Cheng Di died in Zhao Hede's bed, and the ruling and opposition parties shook, and his ministers denounced Zhao Zhi's disaster. Zhao Hede knew he couldn't escape the blame and committed suicide.
Dear queen mother

However, a few months later, eunuch Li Xieguang impeached Zhao, urging the emperor to kill the prince born in Xuhe Palace in Zhonggong, saying that Zhao rebelled against the holy dynasty and killed his children, and his family demanded that Zhao's sins be investigated.
So the emperor ordered to get rid of Zhao's younger brother Hou and nephew Chengyang Hou Zhao, demoted them to and drove their families to Liaoxi County. On behalf of Zhao, Geng Yu expressed doubts about the murder of the prince exposed by Xie Guang, and denounced him for hitting people when they were down.
Because of Zhao's strong contribution to the succession of the Empress Dowager and his close relationship with Empress Dowager Fu, Zhao was finally able to settle down and keep the position of the Empress Dowager, but it was hated by the Empress Dowager and the Wangs.
Abandoned suicide
Zhao acceded to the throne for helping Liu Xin, the nephew of the Emperor. The new emperor was grateful and still addressed her as the Empress Dowager. During this period, some ministers said that Zhao had committed a big crime and her family had to sit together and point the finger at Zhao, but they didn't deal with it.
June of the second year of Yuanshou.
Mourn the death of the emperor. Wang's consorts group, which was at odds with each other, made a comeback, and their favorite consorts were hit hard. Empress Fu and Empress Ding were dug up, and Empress Zhao was abolished, leaving only Wang. Wang Zhengjun, the Empress Dowager, ordered the former Empress Dowager, Zhao Yi, brother and sister to sleep exclusively, conspired against thieves, destroyed the ancestral temple with their heirs, violated the heaven and violated their ancestors, and did nothing for the mother of the world. Demote the Empress Dowager as the Filial Piety Empress and move to Gong Bei. A month later, Wang Mang demoted Empress Zhao and Empress Fu together and hurried to guard her husband's grave. On the same day, they committed suicide together, and Zhao only outlived her sister Zhao Hede by six years.
