Shenzhen Institute of Technology (Shenzhen Senior Technical School) is a public senior technical college invested by the government to train senior workers, technicians and senior technicians. The school covers an area of 98,000 square meters, and the new campus under construction covers an area of 374,420 square meters. By 20 1 1 year, there will be nearly 10000 full-time students, and the number of socialized trainees will reach 30000 per year.
The school has a team of teachers with reasonable structure and excellent quality, including 8 doctors and 85 masters. Among them, there are 65 associate professors and above and 97 lecturers.
The school implements the teaching management structure of a school, a department and a room. There are mainly two teaching departments, namely, the Applied Design Department, the Information Technology Department, the International Business Department, the Jewelry Watch Department, the Optical Electromechanical Technology Department, the Automobile Technology Department, the Applied Biology Department, the Printing Technology Department, the Electrical Engineering Department, the Electronic Communication Department, the Public Education Department and the Foreign Language Education Center, and there are 30 teaching departments.

A set of project curriculum system connected with the market has been established, including special operation training, electromechanical technology, technology application, information technology, enterprise management, application design, jewelry, applied biotechnology, entrepreneurial skills, fashion design and other training categories, and nearly 100 kinds of vocational training projects and vocational qualification certification. In 2009 alone, the center trained nearly 20,000 middle and senior talents for Shenzhen.
