The creation of historical plays should have a historical attitude and a reasonable plot, but this is not enough. We must try our best to make the main facts of historical stories consistent with historical records, and the details and characters can be fabricated and processed. Otherwise, it is not a historical drama, but at most a drama (that is, a tragicomedy).
The storyline of a formal historical drama must be like the classical classics Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Biography of the Tang and Five Dynasties, Biography of the Emperor Riding Light, Romance of the Han Dynasty, Leisure, Biography of Tang People, Biography of Song People, Biography of Yu Shaobao's Loyalty and Righteousness, and Romance of Nan Ming Dynasty. For example, Feng Menglong's Biography of the New Country (Biography of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty) removed the myth and absurd description of Biography; Qingyuan Taoist's Romance of the Eastern Han Dynasty is different from the original Romance of the Twelve Emperors of the Eastern Han Dynasty, and the story basically conforms to the records of ancient books such as the Book of the Later Han Dynasty and the Book of the Continued Han Dynasty. Historical novels such as Xingcao, Li Zicheng and Young Emperor should be regarded as historical dramas if they are adapted from these historical documents and basically conform to the description of the original author in the book. Zhuge Liang, Notes of the Tang Dynasty, Song Ci and other dramas are all wonderful, historical and thought-provoking historical dramas of ancient costumes.
