How to judge jadeite and jade
As the old saying goes, jade is beautiful. The essence of jade is actually stone. Only beautiful stones can be called jade, and those that are not beautiful can only be called stones. Jade is divided into nephrite and jadeite.

1, nephrite is a traditional jade material in China. The name nephrite comes from nephrite. Because nephrite is the best in Hotan area of Xinjiang, people often call nephrite "Hotan jade". The hardness of nephrite is generally 5.6-6.5 degrees, and it is opaque or translucent. Nephrite is divided into the following categories by color: white jade, topaz, sapphire, (blue white jade), jasper, jet, flower jade and sugar jade.

2. Jadeite refers to jadeite produced in Myanmar. Whether nephrite or jadeite, their texture is very hard and their colors are very bright, so they are known as "the king in the stone". Jade is inherently valuable, and it has become priceless after being processed and carved by skilled craftsmen. With the development of the times, jade has gradually formed a jade culture.

Besides jadeite and hetian jade, there are other varieties: dushan jade, xiuyan jade, lantian jade, etc.

What is jadeite?

Jade, also known as jadeite, jadeite and Burmese jade, is a kind of jade, and its color is emerald green (called emerald) or red (called jade). Jade is the king of jade and the only internationally recognized gem-grade jade. It has many incomparable characteristics and advantages compared with other jade varieties. Specifically, jade has six remarkable characteristics: rich color, stable physical properties, strong luster, high refractive index, high specific gravity, high hardness, spirituality and vitality; In addition, gem-grade jadeite is only produced in a specific vein in Myanmar, and the uniqueness of the place of origin also determines her noble quality-"rare things are precious"

Jade is just a kind of jade. Jade that can be used as jewelry is only produced in Myanmar, and the overall price is higher than other kinds of jadeite, but some jadeite with very rough texture (bean jadeite) is also very cheap. Therefore, the prices of nephrite and jadeite depend on their quality. The better the quality, the finer the texture, the fewer defects and the higher the price. So we can't directly judge whether nephrite is more valuable or jadeite is more valuable, and we can't say which is more valuable, jade or jade, depending on the specific situation.

Jade is not equal to jade, but it includes jade. Jadeite is a mineral combination composed of many minerals, mainly jadeite. It is a specific category of jade members and cannot be equated with "jade", let alone jade. Jade includes many kinds, such as agate, foam, hetian jade, jadeite and so on. Some kinds of jade, the overall grade is much lower than that of jadeite, and the price, stability and rarity are also lower, such as agate and foam. Of course, the price of some jadeite is lower than that of jadeite, and a few high-quality Hetian jade bracelets will reach nearly 10 million yuan.

Hetian jade is nephrite, and its value mainly depends on whiteness and powder. Hetian jade in a narrow sense refers to nephrite from Hetian, Xinjiang. At present, nephrite resources in Hotan, Xinjiang are scarce, and the price is rising all the way. Anyone who has played jade all his life has never seen a real suet white jade. More than 90% jadeite is produced in Myanmar, which belongs to jadeite and is deeply loved by Asians. At present, there is also a shortage of resources, and everything that is lustful and perfect is expensive. Most jadeites played in ancient China were Hetian jade. Later, after a trade with foreign countries, jadeite came in, so Hetian jade was recorded before jadeite in the history of jade in China.

1, appearance difference. The difference in appearance is the most intuitive difference between the two kinds of jade. Hetian jade is warm and greasy, with simple appearance, while jade is transparent and bright, showing domineering. In terms of image, Hetian jade is like a graceful Confucian scholar, while Jade is a general galloping on the battlefield.

2. The appreciation of color is different. The common colors of Hetian jade are blue and white. Appreciating the color of Hetian jade depends on whether the color gives people a clean and comfortable feeling and whether the color is even and bright. Oiliness and even hetian jade are top grades. Jade is rich in color, and the high-quality jade is gorgeous and full. Look at the color of jadeite and pay attention to the saturation.

3. Technical differences. Jade is carved into figures, landscapes, flowers and birds, etc. Hetian jade is mostly made into Yu Pei and jade bracelets, and some jade brands made of Hetian jade have high collection value.

The difference between jadeite and dushan jade.

Dushan jade is delicate and round, and the green is bright and charming. It is comparable to Burmese jadeite in luster and color, also known as "Nanyang jadeite". Because of this, dushan jade is often mixed with jade in the market, leaving consumers at a loss. In fact, there are essential differences between jadeite in dushan jade and Burma. As long as consumers are careful, they can see the difference between dushan jade and Emerald: dushan jade Pendant.

1. dushan jade (2.73-3. 18) is relatively smaller than emerald (3.33) in density, so dushan jade is lighter, while emerald has a heavy feeling.

2. Look at the structure, dushan jade is dominated by plagioclase minerals, with sugar granular structure, indicating that the internal particles are all the same size; Jadeite is mainly composed of jadeite minerals, showing a typical interwoven structure. Dushan jade can see particles with the same size under the irradiation of side light or transmitted light; The jadeite grains are uneven and intertwined. In addition, because dushan jade is mainly composed of feldspar minerals, in the case of surface reflection, some scaly reflections can be seen on the surface, and the displayed "scales" reflect multiple equal particle sizes, just like white sugar; On the other hand, jade is mainly composed of jadeite minerals. In the case of surface reflection, we can see the phenomenon of flake flash, which is a long column with different sizes, commonly known as "flying wing", that is, the "emerald" feature of emerald. Emeralds are easier to see on rough fractures or polished surfaces.

3. Look at the gloss, the refractive index of dushan jade changes greatly, but it is mainly in the range of 1.52- 1.56, and the hardness is 6-6.5; The refractive index of jadeite is relatively high, at 1.66, and the hardness is also relatively high, at 6.5-7; Judging from the surface luster, jadeite is brighter than dushan jade, which is glass luster, while dushan jade is glass ~ grease luster, and the surface is relatively prone to some scratches or friction marks.

4. Look at the color. Dushan jade is a multi-colored jade with many stripes. Because it is mainly feldspar minerals, it will show some flesh red ~
