The purpose of China Jewelry Association is to unite enterprises, institutions and professional researchers engaged in the exploration, mining, processing and sales of gemstones, work hard, forge ahead, and work hard to revitalize and develop the gemstone industry in China. Its main tasks are: (1) unite all employees engaged in the production, education, scientific research and commerce of gemstone industry, investigate and study the supply and demand situation, management system, resources, utilization, protection, industrial structure, product import and export policies, price policies and tax policies of gemstone at home and abroad, make suggestions for government decision-making, and provide services for gemstone enterprises and consumers; (two) to assist the competent departments of gemstone business and enterprises and institutions to carry out various forms of horizontal contact, promote the coordinated development of gemstone exploration, mining, industry and trade (that is, exploration, mining, raw material processing and product trade), and improve resource efficiency, economic benefits and social benefits; (3) Providing technical services such as scientific research, identification and processing of gemstones; (4) Organize professional training in technology, economy and management of gem industry to improve the quality of gem industry team; (5) Collect, sort out and study the economic and technical information of the gemstone industry at home and abroad, edit and publish books, periodicals and newspapers related to gemstones, timely reflect the industry trends and experiences, and publicize the government's policies on the gemstone industry; (6) Carry out technical and economic exchanges and cooperation between domestic and international gem circles.

According to the professional division of labor, China Jewelry Association has several working departments and professional committees. Gem and Jade Association of all provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) is a group member of China Jewelry and Jade Jewelry Industry Association.

China Jewellery and Jade Jewelry Industry Association has established China Gemstone and China Gemstone for public distribution at home and abroad, and provided information services for its members through National Gemstone Newspaper and Gemstone Information.

China Jewelry Association holds once or twice a year national exhibitions, orders and academic exchange activities. Gemstone associations and professional committees in various provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions organized various activities accordingly, which effectively promoted the prosperity and development of the gem industry. China Jewelry and Jade Jewelry Industry Association has become the most influential and authoritative social group in China.
