Hubei University of Economics Pawning Major
Hubei University of Economics Pawning Specialty (College)
Southwest University Yucai College (Chongqing) Auction and Pawn Specialty
Alas, I wanted to study this major in 2008, but I didn't succeed if I didn't learn anything else. Don't regret for a lifetime before the college entrance examination.
The first concern is still related to pawn, that is, pawn appraisers.
Because the business scope of the pawn industry is all-encompassing, all kinds of movable or immovable property such as real estate, cars, watches, jewelry, national debt, stocks and so on. It may become collateral, which requires pawnbrokers to extensively dabble in all aspects of professional knowledge, develop critical eyes, judge the value of collateral, and understand legal knowledge such as financial regulations, civil law, commercial law, contract law, and corporate accounting and taxation.
Xiao Yuefeng, director of Beijing Fuchang Pawnshop, said, "Our job is not only to evaluate the price of goods on the counter, but also to go out and understand the market situation and changes, as well as the market trend of some goods, and even make predictions in advance."
At present, only one or two schools in China offer auction and pawn specialty, so it takes at least three or four years to train a qualified pawnbroker. At present, there are about 20,000 pawn shops in China. Industry insiders predict that the demand for pawn shops will double in the next five years.

In addition, if graduates want to continue their studies, they can take postgraduate examinations in economics, management, geology and law, or consider studying abroad. In 2008 and 2009, this major delivered 220 graduates to the market for two consecutive years, and the employment rate reached 100%. Some of them have been admitted to famous universities in China, some have gone abroad for further study, and the rest have worked in auction, pawn industry, museums and cultural relics appraisal institutions in Beijing and Tianjin, which have won favorable comments from people in the industry.
For many years, the pawnbroker industry has been playing the role of cleaning up the mess. With the financial reform of the central bank,
With the launch of the "Measures", the pawn industry is taking off the hat of financial institutions and replacing it with "husband's family"-
"Borrowing money from our bank is as easy as borrowing a pen, and it is free of human feelings, guarantees and financial statements. The loan targets are citizens with monthly income below 300 yuan, private high-tech enterprises and seriously ill families "-this poster is posted on the door of a pawnshop on Maotai Road in this city. With fast, flexible and redeemable loans, many small businesses, self-employed individuals and families in urgent need have weathered the crisis, and the special industry of pawn has maintained its own self-circulation in its own unique way. According to incomplete statistics, there were nearly 70,000 pawn customers in Shanghai last year, and the amount of pawn was nearly 600 million yuan.
However, when people in trouble think of "pawning" as a traditional and effective emergency method, I am afraid that most people may not be able to find a pawnshop immediately, because since the establishment of 1989 Shanghai Hengyuan Pawnshop, there are only 12 pawnbrokers in Shanghai. This is inseparable from the regulatory principles of relevant departments: it is understood that no new pawnbrokers have been approved to start business since China People's Bank 1996 promulgated the Interim Measures for the Management of Pawnshops to clarify their regulatory responsibilities. Pawnshops, as non-bank financial institutions, have always been strictly bound by the banking law: the registered capital must reach 5 million yuan, loans are not allowed, branches are not allowed, shares are scattered, and the scope of pawn is limited.
Under such a regulatory background, the life of pawnshops is not easy. Relevant information shows that the total registered principal of 12 pawn shops in this city is less than 1 100 million yuan, of which 35% are idle funds. Due to the small scale of financing and high relative operating costs, idle funds cannot be invested for profit, which leads to the inefficiency of some pawn shops. Recently, the People's Bank of China and the State Economic and Trade Commission decided that pawnshops should be formally separated from the financial system and managed by the State Economic and Trade Commission as a special industrial and commercial enterprise. People who have placed a lot of hopes on pawnshops can't help asking: If the pawnshop of "in-laws' family" is changed, will the road tomorrow be easy?
Due to the special situation in Shanghai, the pawnshop will be supervised by the Municipal Commercial Committee. Although the formal "handover" has not yet been handled, the Municipal Commercial Committee has conducted research and started to formulate relevant management measures. It is reported that the Municipal Commission of Commerce will soon set up a service management office to manage the service industry including pawn shops. The industry believes that this is likely to be an opportunity for the development of pawn shops. Martin, general manager of Hengtong Pawnshop, told the reporter that the biggest advantage of the pawnshop's separation from financial control is that some original restrictive policies may be loosened, and the business tax may also be reduced from 8% of the original financial enterprises to 5% of industrial and commercial enterprises.
Pawnshops themselves are also exploring new ways for future development. According to reports, the online pawnshop project led by the National Pawn Professional Committee will enable more than 1000 pawnshops in China to enjoy the talents, information and technology of the online platform. Relying on the network to carry out pawn trading, pawn evaluation and appraisal, qualification training, unique auction and other businesses. Calligraphy and painting that can't be sold in Wuhan can be sold in Shanghai, experts in Beijing can identify the authentic products in Shanghai, and absolutely authentic antiques in Shanxi can fetch a good price in Shanghai. People in the industry are optimistic that with the help of the wings of the Internet, the ancient industry of pawn will glow with new vitality.
