This pearl became a trophy of foreigners, and its whereabouts have been unknown ever since. 19 18, the Pearl of Asia reappeared in the rivers and lakes and arrived in Hong Kong. It was bought by a China official for about HK$ 50,000. In the meantime, it almost disappeared again and tried to be stolen by a pair of Israelis. When the police came to collect evidence, the Belgians tried to pour it into the toilet to eliminate the evidence. Fortunately, the pearl was too big and stuck in the sewer, so it didn't succeed.
Later, the Pearl of Asia was mortgaged to the Council of Catholic Diplomatic Missions as debt collateral. Because the debtor could not repay, the Pearl of Asia became the collection of the church. However, after World War II, this Pearl of Asia was auctioned in Paris and taken away by an unknown buyer. Since then, his whereabouts are unknown. /kloc-0 came to Japan for a short exhibition in February, 1993. However, due to secrecy, people don't know the name of the collector. They hope that one day this pearl of Asia can be exhibited again for people to witness its elegance.
