Japan's tax refund process
Many large department stores or electrical appliances stores in Tokyo will directly post the words "tax-free" at the entrance, while the price labels on the general shelves are mostly pre-tax prices unless otherwise specified.

Unlike many places in Europe, Japan's tax refund is not handled at the airport, but at the tax refund counter of the shopping mall after each shopping, or you can enjoy the pre-tax price of the goods by showing your passport when you pay. When paying, the clerk will put the duty-free items in a special bag and stick a special cherry blossom duty-free sticker. Consumables purchased duty-free before leaving the country cannot be used in principle.

Japan's duty-free objects include: department stores, supermarkets, clothing, household appliances, motor vehicles and related commodities, leisure sports goods, toys, handicrafts, precious jewelry, glasses, cameras, antiques and other articles of artistic value.

Provisions on the value of purchased goods: the same store can be refunded if it reaches 5000 yen before tax.
