East China University of Science and Technology, formerly known as East China Institute of Chemical Technology, was formed by merging the chemistry departments of Jiaotong University (Shanghai), Aurora University (Shanghai), Datong University (Shanghai), Soochow University (Suzhou) and Jiangnan University (Wuxi). 1952. It is the first institution of higher learning in New China which is famous for its chemical characteristics.
1956 was designated as one of the first graduate schools in China; 1960 was identified by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China as a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education; 1993 was renamed East China University of Science and Technology with the approval of the State Education Commission; At 1 1, it entered the national "2 165438".
20 17 was selected as the national "double first-class" world-class discipline construction university, and chemistry, materials science and engineering, chemical engineering and technology were selected as the first-class discipline construction list. The school has three campuses, Xuhui, Fengxian and Jinshan, with a total area of 2,535 mu and a total area of 920,000 square meters of various buildings.
