There are four main types of fraud against the elderly:
One is to use health as bait.
This is a prominent scam in recent years. In the name of free medical examination and consultation, swindlers trick the elderly into "getting sick" and hold so-called "health talks" in hotels to induce them to buy "magic" drugs or physiotherapy equipment;
The second is to use family as bait.
This kind of scam usually calls first, deliberately pretending to be an acquaintance, and defrauding the trust of the elderly. Call to borrow money every one or two days, and even ask the elderly to transfer money for emergency on the grounds that their children, relatives and friends have car accidents and debts.
The third is to use the authoritative department as bait.
This kind of scam is often under the banner of the government and other authoritative departments, and the elderly are fooled by phone calls and text messages;
The fourth is to divide the stolen goods into bait.
Most of these scams use a large amount of valuables such as cash, precious metals and jewelry as bait to let the elderly participate in the sharing of stolen goods, and then take cash or valuables as collateral to keep the valuables they have found on the grounds that they need to raise money for the sharing of stolen goods. In fact, the so-called valuables or money are either fakes or have been replaced.
Children should not let the elderly participate in so-called lectures, free trips, free tea parties, and free visits to company operations to prevent being deceived; Don't trust all kinds of high-return investments, so as not to be blinded by profits; Generally speaking, the so-called annual income can be "guaranteed" to exceed 10%, which must be marked with a big question mark; Don't blindly believe in high-yield publicity and the so-called "company strength" to prevent turning a blind eye.
