What are the eight auspicious signs mentioned by Mr. Hou in Selling Cloth Head?
Badaxiang Silk Shop, located in front of Dashilan in Qianmen, Beijing, was founded in Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty and operated by the Meng family in Jiujun Town, Zhangqiu County, Jinan Prefecture, Shandong Province.

At first, there was only "Rui Fuxiang" on the west wall in front of the door, and only "Qian Yixiang" on the east wall. Soon, Mill Road opened "Sheng Ruixiang" in the south.

In the early years of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty, namely 1875, Rui Fuxiang, Qian and Rui successively opened another branch. Ruifuxiang's branch is called "Ruifuxiang Dongji", which is located outside the fish mouth of Qianmen Outer Street.

The branch of Qianyi Lane is called "Yihe Lane", which is located on both sides of the west road of Jewelry City. Ruishengxiang's branch is called "Ruizengxiang", which is located outside the west entrance of the polishing factory.

Guangxu 19, that is, AD 1893, opened a "Ruilinxiang" silk shop outside Dashilan.

In the 26th year of Guangxu, during the Gengzi Incident, a street in Dashilan was completely destroyed by fire. Later, Hou, a descendant of Meng, prepared nearly twenty-two thousand pieces of silver to rebuild Ruilinxiang. Around the east and west moon walls of Qianmen, because of the construction of the railway station, the land was nationalized and all the big shops were demolished.

As a result, Ruifuxiang of Xiyue Wall was merged into Ruifuxiang Dongji, Qian Xiang moved to the headline of the gallery, and the store was merged into Yihe Xiang.

Later, Qian opened a branch on the east side of Qianmen Street, called "Qianbei", which was very large. At the end of Guangxu, namely 1908, Rui Fuxiang made great achievements and opened five branches outside Dashilan, becoming the leading silk shop at that time.

After the demise of the Qing Dynasty, the East Collection of Ruilin Xiangdong was also closed.

During the Republic of China, Rui Lin changed hands. In 24 years of the Republic of China, namely 1935, Rui Shengxiang and Rui Zengxiang closed down one after another. At present, only one of the eight old brands is Rui Fuxiang. Another money shop, renamed Jingsi Store after liberation, has long existed in name only.
