Huang Longyu was originally called yellow wax stone. In the eyes of local people, it has the color of Tian Huang, the hardness of jade, good hardness, high transparency and rich colors. Because it was produced in Longling, and its color was mainly yellow, it was finally named Huang Longyu. At present, from the perspective of appreciation, it can be divided into "Native Huang Longyu" and "Engraving Huang Longyu".
Huang Longyu is a new jade species discovered in Longling, Yunnan in 2004. Its main colors are yellow and red, as well as sheep fat white, blue white, black, gray and green. Known as "yellow as gold, red as blood, Bai Rubing as black as ink". Specifically: yellow is yellow with different shades such as golden yellow, honey yellow, egg yolk, chicken oil yellow, orange yellow and loquat yellow; Red ones are chicken blood red, cinnabar red, pig liver red, rose red, light red, water red and so on; White has snow white, ice white and so on. Huang Longyu is mainly composed of muscovite, iron, aluminum, manganese and more than 40 kinds of trace elements, but it is not a single crystal, but a polycrystalline complex similar to jadeite and hetian jade. Hardness is equivalent to that of jadeite, Moho hardness is 6.5-7, toughness is better than jadeite, slightly lower than Hetian jade, and it is an excellent jade material suitable for carving. Since its discovery, Huang Longyu has won many awards, such as the highest jade award in China, and has gradually been recognized, loved and collected by people, becoming one of the three hottest fine jadeites at present. It is the highest quality jade species found after Hetian jade in Xinjiang and Myanmar, and has high ornamental value, investment and collection value. The diversity of its playing style is also its unique feature.
