He painted Wu Daozi, which is said to be related to Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty. It is said that Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty suddenly contracted a terrible disease during a trip, and there is no cure for this medicine stone. Once, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty dreamed that a child in red was stealing his jewels. In desperation, a GREAT GHOST suddenly appeared and swallowed the child. Tang Xuanzong was frightened and asked who he was. GREAT GHOST said that his name was Zhong Kui and he went to high school, but the emperor at that time thought he was ugly and refused to hire him. He was very angry and was killed in the hall. After waking up, Emperor Xuanzong felt sorry for what had happened to him. He felt that he had saved himself and hoped that he could continue to protect himself, so he asked Wu Daozi to draw it.
Later, Wu Daozi painted many portraits of Zhong Kui. Besides this picture of Zhong Kui catching ghosts, there is one of his masterpieces, Zhong Kui's Ten Fingers. The image of Zhong Kui has gradually entered people's lives, and then evolved into various legends and paintings, such as "Zhong Kui married his younger sister" and so on.
