How did Li, the great eunuch of the Qing Dynasty, die?
Eunuch Li was a famous person in the late Qing Dynasty. He accompanied Empress Dowager Cixi for 53 years. Empress Dowager Cixi doted on her to the extreme. Even when she fled to the west, she was accompanied by Li. In order to reward her, Empress Dowager Cixi also broke the royal ancestral system of "eunuch grade is limited to four grades" and named Li as the eunuch in charge of two grades.

Li, formerly known as Li Jinxi, 1848, was born in a poor peasant family. In order to make a living, his father castrated him and sent him to the palace as a eunuch. Because Li can comb her new hairstyle, she was chosen as a eunuch by Cixi to comb her hair. Later, with her cleverness and tact, Li won the favor of Empress Dowager Cixi, with one person's strength, over 10,000 people, taking power in one hand and unlimited scenery.

1908, Cixi died in Yiluan Hall, and Li arranged the funeral for Cixi. After a year's vigil, 6 1 year-old Li voluntarily handed over his property and left the palace.

Like ordinary demobilized eunuchs, he chose to enter the temple as a place for the aged. Li bought a house in Hutong very early. So after he left the palace, he lived in seclusion here, behind closed doors, and lived a life of fasting and chanting Buddha.

However, only three years later, Li died. Although his family said at his funeral that Li died of dysentery, they had different views on the cause of Li's death.

Some people say that he was killed, and some even say that he died at the hands of the revolutionary party, because Empress Dowager Cixi was the chief culprit in suppressing the Reform Movement of 1898, and her "messenger" Li became the object of the revolutionary party's anger.

Others say that Li has enemies all over North Korea, and many people want to kill him, so Li is likely to die at the hands of enemies in the palace.

Of course, with Li's wit and tact, not many enemies were offended. Therefore, how he died has been debated endlessly.

However, 55 years later, in 1966, Li's death caused an uproar. At that time, an ancient tomb was inadvertently excavated by students next to the "June 1" school in Haidian District, Beijing. Archaeologists rushed to rescue the excavation, and it took everyone a week to dig a small hole. When they saw the gap, they were all chilling. Because it turned out to be granite, they couldn't dig any more.

It turns out that Li's tomb is different from others'. Legend has it that the outer layer of Li's tomb is made of yellow sand, egg white and glutinous rice. When repairing the tomb, I found eggs from dozens of nearby villages, and the eggs were yellow everywhere. People in the neighborhood ate too many eggs, and then they wanted to throw up when they saw them.

Of course, it takes a lot of effort to dig such a tomb. Later, recommended by an experienced local old man, archaeologists searched for a new entrance again. After some twists and turns, they finally found the tomb door, and then they successfully entered the tomb underground palace.

After opening the golden flower mahogany coffin inside, everyone was shocked again. It turned out that in Li's coffin, a lot of gold, silver and jewels were found at the same time, and there was only a rotten skull inside. Although the rest have human figures, they are all cotton and there is not a bone in the clothes.

After careful investigation, experts found that there was no trace of destruction in the tomb, which was obviously not stolen by grave robbers, so there was only one skull in the coffin without a body, which was obviously the case when it was buried. According to the analysis and judgment of the tragic situation of the body in the tomb, the experts concluded that Li was killed by him.

I wonder who killed him.

Later, Li's granddaughter said that Li was beheaded on the way to collect debts, and the accompanying servants wrapped Li's head in clothes and brought it back to Beijing.

Of course, this statement has not been recognized by historians. Therefore, Li's beheading is still a mystery.

However, after Li's grave was excavated, his funerary objects were handed over to the state, but his head was discarded at will. According to legend, local students once kicked him in the head like playing football, then threw him into the toilet of the school toilet, and finally rushed into the sewer and disappeared.
