Zhao Zhou Zen master (AD 778? 897), the dharma name comes from the imperial edict, and it is a great master in the history of Zen. He became a monk as a child and later became a monk in Nanquan. He is the fourth generation descendant after Master Huineng, the sixth ancestor of Zen Buddhism. In the 11th year of Emperor Taizong (AD 857), the 80-year-old monk Chen visited the ancient city of Zhaozhou, and was persuaded by believers to stay in Xiguan Temple, where he preached for 40 years. He became a great Taoist and was admired by monks, and was called "the ancient Buddha of Zhaozhou".
Xuefeng Village, formerly known as Zeng, was born in 822 in Nan 'an Village, Quanzhou, Fujian Province, to a Buddhist family for generations. Since he was a child, he has developed a pious and cordial feeling for Buddhism. At the age of 9, he asked to become a monk, but his parents refused. /kloc-When he was 0/2 years old, he traveled to Putian with his father and met the temple. He stayed in the temple and never came back. Monk Qing Xuan of Lile Temple worked as a teacher for five years. /kloc-changed his name at the age of 0/7.
