How is the price of diamonds calculated?
If you want to choose diamonds, your first concern must be the price of diamonds. Different from other precious stones, only diamonds have a clear definition in the world, and the international diamond quotation is updated once a week, among which the most famous one in the world is the diamond quotation provided by Rapaport Diamond Report. Jewelers all over the world basically trade diamonds according to this international diamond quotation. Knowing the price list of diamonds, we can calculate the price of diamonds accordingly.

Methods/steps

Diamond price calculation formula:

Diamond price = reported price * 100* diamond weight * exchange rate of RMB against the US dollar on that day.

First, find out the diamond weight field to be calculated in the report and follow the unit price * 100 times the weight * exchange rate to get the price.

For example, to calculate the diamond price of 52 cents (0.52 carat) F/VVS 1, the unit price reported at this level is assumed to be 5 1 USD per carat.

Then the price is (51*100) * 0.52ct * 6.379 =16917.1yuan.

The price of diamonds is assessed according to the 4C grade of diamonds, and the daily fluctuation of RMB against the US dollar will also affect the price of diamonds.

The price of a diamond is inversely proportional to its rarity. The smaller the quantity, the higher the price. If the weight of the diamond is larger, the color grade is higher, the clarity is better, and the cut grade reaches three excellent top diamonds, then this kind of diamond is very rare, so the price will be higher.

Some people think it will be cheaper to buy diamonds in diamond-producing countries. In fact, De Beers, which owns about 80% of the world's original diamonds, has the ability to control the international diamond price. Coupled with the price basis published in Rapaport quotation sheet, the diamond prices in different countries are not much different. The big difference is mainly the difference of brands. Brand-name diamonds are often more expensive, so investment consumers do not need to buy which brands of diamonds.
