As far as the main schools are concerned, the contemporary jade carving techniques in China can be divided into two major schools: the Northern School, represented by Beijing, covers northern provinces and cities such as Liaoning, Tianjin, Hebei, Henan and Xinjiang, while the Southern School includes the areas along the Yangtze River and is divided into several tribes, including "Shanghai Workers" represented by Shanghai, "Suzhou Workers" represented by Suzhou, and "Yangzhou Workers" represented by Yangzhou.

Special Art City is the largest jewelry wholesale city in Fujian. It is also the hypermarket of Shoushan Stone and the only designated trading market for handicrafts in Fuzhou. Then there are many big companies in the Arts and Crafts City in Putian, Fujian, which are engaged in jade carving, wood carving and jewelry industry. Jewelry companies have Huachang jewelry, wood carving industry has thousands of crafts, and jade carving industry has Fujian Cuiyuan.
