How to repair the broken zipper quickly
1

Zip it to the bottom. If possible, pull the zipper to both ends of the zipper so that all the teeth are exposed.

Try to expose all your teeth so that the zipper can be pulled back smoothly.

If the zipper gets stuck in the cloth of the clothes and can't pull one end, just keep it like this and find a way to deal with it.

2

Rub your teeth with a drawing pen. Rub the tip of the drawing pencil along the tooth edge of the zipper, which will leave a layer of pencil head on the tooth edge.

Pay attention to the zipper, because it is the roughest place and needs lubrication most.

But the whole zipper must be painted, so as to lubricate the whole zipper.

If you are caught by clothes, try to apply more pencil tips under and around the caught part. You can also apply a pencil point to the cloth you are holding, which makes it easier to pull it out.

Pencil is now equivalent to a lubricant, which is easy to control.

three

Zip back and forth. Pull the zipper back and forth slowly on the lubricated zipper.

If there is a little resistance, stop and add some pencil scraps, and then continue to pull until you can pull from one end to the other.

Not too fast, it may cause other problems.

If it sticks to the cloth, you need to "swing" the zipper slowly and pull it out gently.

four

If the pencil tip doesn't work, change to a strong lubricant.

Other lubricants are soap, candle wax, glass cleaner and lip balm.

Draw the zipper in the same way.

five

Then test it. Please note that you may need to apply it several times to be effective.

Method 2

Deal with teeth that don't close.

1

Lubricate your teeth as much as possible. Sometimes, the teeth are too rough to close. If so, please refer to the method 1.

Paint all sides of the teeth with a pencil. Try to zip it back and forth to see if it can be zipped.

If it doesn't work, try applying it with glass cleaner, wax, soap or lipstick.

2

Straighten the crooked teeth with pliers. Check the teeth carefully to see which one is different and which one is protruding, and carefully pull it back with pliers.

Hold the teeth one by one with small needle-nosed pliers. Otherwise, you may accidentally break other normal teeth.

three

Fix the zipper with pliers. The zipper sometimes opens and can't be closed properly. Use pliers to close the top and bottom of the zipper together so that it can catch other teeth.

Be careful not to pull the zipper too tightly, it looks like it is stuck. If the zipper is fully zipped, it can't be pulled any more. Instead, you just need to close it to the point where you can quickly zip it up.

four

Remove the metal sheet from the bottom of the zipper. [2] Sometimes when you wear clothes for a while, your teeth will become less tidy. If this happens, you need to remove the bottom metal plate and realign it.

Open the metal sheet with needle-nose pliers so that it can be removed from the zipper.

Please note that this can only be done if the metal plates can be in direct contact.

five

Join the teeth on the zipper together. Pull the zipper to the bottom of the zipper, then close the teeth on the zipper by hand. Gently pull the zipper through the teeth to get them in place.

Don't pull down the zipper directly. If you do this, it will be difficult to put it back.

six

Sew the tail with a needle and thread. At least six stitches instead of sheet metal.

Be sure to sew it firmly, or the zipper will fall off.

seven

Try the zipper again. At this point, all teeth should be closed and zippers should be as good as ever.

Method 3

Dealing with missing or bad teeth

1

Check the position of bad or missing teeth. If the position is very close to the end, it can be repaired, but if it is close to the beginning, be ready to change the zipper. [3]

If the missing tooth is in the back third of the whole zipper, it can be filled.

If it is in the first two thirds, the whole zipper should be replaced.

2

Zip up the bad tooth.

You can zip it up or just above the bad tooth. As long as it is on the bad tooth, it doesn't matter where it is.

three

Stitch a few stitches on a bad tooth. At least six stitches, which will produce a new ending.

You need to sew more times, which is safer.

The new end should be just above the damaged part, so that more zippers can be kept.

Sew both sides of the teeth.

four

Check the zipper. The zipper should be able to pull from the starting point to the new end point.

Method 4

What if the zipper is broken?

1

Put the key ring on the zipper pull ring. Find a metal key ring and connect it with the pull ring of the zipper.

Note that this is only a stopgap measure and can only be used if there is a hole in the zipper. More suitable for jeans, not for jackets.

Make sure the key ring is big enough to pass through the hole in the zipper.

2

Of course, you can also use rubber bands instead of key rings. Just put the rubber band through the hole of the zipper and tie a knot in the hole.

The size of the rubber belt should be appropriate, so that it can pass through the hole of the zipper smoothly.

The rubber belt is more flexible and easy to replace.

three

Pull a key ring or rubber band. Pull the zipper to the bottom and continue to pull the key ring or rubber band.

This can prevent the newly installed key ring or rubber band from accidentally falling off. At the beginning of pulling, the ring or belt pulls the zipper tightly. Pull the zipper.

If this method doesn't work, you'll have to change the zipper.

Method 5

What if the slider on the zipper is broken [4]

1

Buy a new one. If the slider is completely broken, you need to replace it with a new one. The new and the old should be similar in size and style.

Look at the letters under the slider. This is a model of the slider.

When buying a new slider, find a model similar to the old one.

2

Take off the sewing thread at the end of the zipper. Remove the sewing thread at the end of the zipper with a thread remover, and remove both sides.

You don't need to tear it down too much. The purpose of thread removal is to expose the metal sheet at the end of the zipper and the structure at the end. Don't try to take off the whole zipper.

If it is a jacket or other clothes with the zipper exposed, the above steps are not needed.

three

Remove the metal plate. You can open and remove the metal plate with needle-nosed pliers.

Be careful in case you remove too many threads or accidentally break the zipper.

four

Remove the slider from the zipper. Remove the slider from the zipper.

If you can't take it off, you can open it with pliers. But this is likely to damage the teeth or zipper, so try to pull it down by hand.

five

Carefully install the new slider. Before pulling up the slider, let the zipper enter the top of the slider and then let it pass under the slider.

If you encounter minor problems when installing the slider, try using a pin or sewing needle and carefully pull the zipper into the slider.

Make sure that the teeth in the slider snap together.

Pull the slider up until there are closed teeth at the end.

six

Sew a piece together. Sew at least six stitches at the bottom of the zipper, and be sure to sew it under the slider, and a new hinge will be formed.

When the metal plate is removed, it can't be put back, but it can be replaced with a few stitches.

seven

Sew the zipper on. After removal, sew the zipper back.

This step is over. The zipper is now safe and the slider can move back and forth smoothly.

Method 6

Handle broken pull ring

1

Find a small ring or something through the slider. The pull ring is broken, just find a small object to replace it.

Possible items are metal key rings, paper clips, telephone lines, beautiful pendants or bracelets. If possible, it's better to be about the size of the drop-down label.

2

Put it on the slider. Pass it through the hole in the slider and close it.

If you use a key ring, jewelry ring or paper clip, you can slide them into the hole.

If it is a telephone line or a closed ring, it needs to pass through the opening at the bottom of the slider.

three

Zip up as usual. Test whether the newly installed pull ring is easy to use, and pull the zipper back and forth, and the effect should be the same as before.

skill

If the above steps do not solve the problem, it may be necessary to completely replace the zipper. Buy a zipper with the same length and width. Remove the bad zipper with a thread remover, and then sew a new zipper.
