1, visual observation
Check the official symbol of gold. Generally, it is engraved with 999 or 990, but ancient gold ornaments will not have obvious official purity marks. Some fake gold ornaments also have official marks, which need further inspection. See if there is any obvious discoloration. Check the worn area of the gold surface, usually at the edge of the gold product, and check the discoloration there. If the gold gradually disappears and becomes another color, then the product is only gilded.
2. Magnet inspection
If the gold jewelry you buy is firmly attracted by the magnet, then 100% can say that such gold jewelry is not pure gold.
3. Bite your teeth
Gently bite your gold bracelet, and then check your bite marks. The deeper the bite marks, the higher the purity of gold.
4. Density test
We know that only a few metals have higher density than gold. The density of pure 24K gold is about 19.3g/ml, which is much higher than other metals, and is about twice as heavy as silver, lead and tin with the same volume. We generally don't have relevant density detection equipment ourselves, but many large jewelry stores have corresponding detection equipment to help with the detection.
5. Listen to the sound
Because of the high density and good ductility of gold, it usually makes a dull sound when hitting gold ornaments with high fineness. If you throw it on hard ground, it has no rhythm and elasticity. On the contrary, gold with low color is the opposite. The louder the sound, the more elastic it is.
