The History of Hoonji Pagoda
Honghu residence is located in Changganli, beside Qinhuai River, on the east side of Yuhua Road outside Zhonghua Gate in Nanjing. Legend has it that Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty (Judy) commemorated the tragic death of his biological mother, Qi Fei (Korean). There are also many doubts about his birth mother being a princess. A group of large buildings built during the period from 14 12 to 143 1 are magnificent, just like palaces. Dahongzhi's architecture is extremely exquisite, built in full accordance with the standards of the palace. The foundation is first nailed with thick wooden stakes, then set on fire to become charcoal, then compacted with iron wheels and rolling stones, and the charcoal is covered with vermilion to prevent moisture and kill insects. There are more than 20 temples, 1 18 galleries and 38 study rooms in the temple. It lasted 19 years, consumed 2.5 million taels of silver and recruited more than 654.38+10,000 people. Hongzhi Glass Pagoda located behind the main hall was built in the 10th year of Yongle (14 12) and completed in the 3rd year of Xuande (1428). It has nine floors and eight sides and is 78.2 meters high. It can be seen even on the Yangtze River dozens of miles away. White porcelain veneer on the tower and glass tickets on the arch. There are cloisters on the ground floor (that is, the "second cycle" in the Song Dynasty). The tower room is square, and the eaves, arches and railings are decorated with colored glazed bricks, with Buddhist themes such as lions, white elephants and flying sheep. Because of the transfer between layers, the bricks used are different in size. The top of the brake is inlaid with gold, silver and jewels. The wind chime of 152 hung under the corner beam, which rang day and night and could be heard for miles away. Since its completion, the lamp of Changming Tower 140 has been lit, and it consumes 64 kilograms of oil every day, resplendent day and night. The inner wall of the tower is covered with shrines. This tower is one of the 48 scenic spots in Jinling. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, some European businessmen, tourists and missionaries came to Nanjing and called it "Nanjing Porcelain Tower", which was comparable to the Colosseum in ancient Rome, the underground tomb of Alexander and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It is called one of the seven wonders of the medieval world and one of the symbols of China.

1856, civil strife in Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. Fearing that Shi Dakai troops would occupy the commanding heights and fire would enter the city, Dahongji was blown up by Wei Changhui, the king of the North, leaving only a bronze pagoda (disappeared after 1930) and an 8-meter-high stone tablet. It is said that when building the tower, three glazed components were fired at a time, one for building the tower and the other for replacement. 1958, a large number of glazed components unearthed in Xiang Yan Temple, Furong Mountain and Kugang Village were marked with Mo Bao font size. Parts are now stored in China National Museum, Nanjing Museum and Nanjing Museum.
