Yiwu International Trade City, China, the direct selling center of manufacturing enterprises, is a modern wholesale market built by China Commodity City to meet the needs of international market development. The first phase of the project invested more than 600 million yuan and was completed and put into use on September 28, 2002. The project covers an area of 420 mu with a building area of 340,000 square meters. There are more than 9,000 major markets, direct sales centers of manufacturing enterprises, commodity procurement centers, storage centers and catering centers, with 1 1,000 households. The first phase of the international trade city market deals in handicrafts, ornaments, toys and flowers, with a daily passenger flow of more than 40,000 people. The goods are sold to 140 countries and regions, more than 90% of the business premises undertake foreign trade business, and foreign trade exports account for more than 60%.
