Jewellery College of China Geo University (Beijing) was established in1September, 1995, and it is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in China to carry out gemology education and offer gemology specialty. At present, the college consists of college office, college party branch and student working group, gem teaching and research section, art design teaching and research section and jewelry design and appraisal laboratory. The teaching laboratory is a qualified laboratory in Beijing, which consists of a gemstone appraisal room, a diamond grading room, a gemstone processing room, a computer room, a jewelry inlay making room, a jewelry polishing room and a wax carving room. In addition, there are skylight studios, design professional classrooms and works exhibition rooms.

At present, Jewellery College has two undergraduate majors, namely Gemmology, Material Technology and Art Design, and two master programs, namely Gemmology and Art Design. At present, there are more than 500 full-time students, including more than 400 undergraduates (including 10 foreign students) and more than 60 graduate students. There are 29 faculty members in the college, including 20 full-time teachers, 85% of whom have graduate degrees and 45% have senior titles. Five teachers have obtained the qualification certificate of national registered jewelry and jade quality inspector. The educational background, major and age structure of college teachers tend to be rational.

Since our school recruited students majoring in gemology from 65438 to 0988, it has trained more than 2,000 professional technicians in gemology and art, and trained nearly 100 doctoral and master students, which has delivered a large number of gemmological professionals at all levels for China's jewelry industry.

With the advantages of the development of key disciplines such as mineralogy, petrology and mineral deposit science in our school, the College has achieved a number of representative teaching and scientific research achievements in gemology, gem improvement, artificial crystal design and processing, gem identification, art design and gem deposit science, published more than 0 papers, and compiled more than 0 textbooks and monographs. He has undertaken many teaching reform projects, published dozens of teaching methodology papers and design works, and won many teaching achievement awards.

Students in our college are very active in extracurricular scientific and technological innovation activities and campus cultural activities. They often organize jewelry culture festivals, art design competitions and exhibitions, roving exhibitions of jewelry knowledge in capital universities, academic lectures by famous experts in jewelry industry and other activities, and have achieved fruitful results. The scientific and technological achievements of our college students have won many awards in the "Challenge Cup" for college students in Beijing and the whole country, and obtained many patents. It has improved students' practical ability, organizational ability, management ability and ability to adapt to society, won a good social reputation for the school and created a good campus cultural life atmosphere.
