Last August, I came to the National University of Singapore to study for the Master of Science in Data Science and Machine Learning. As a student with a public health background, applying for the Master of Science in Data Science and Machine Learning is based on two considerations. On the one hand, there are many data science problems in hospitals, such as patient case storage and records, which actually need data science. Hospital will be a big employment field for me in the future. On the other hand, five years ago, the job descriptions of "data scientists" did not exist, and now employers are vying for these experts. Harvard Business Review even declared that data scientists were the "sexiest" jobs in the 20th century.

After reading an interview with Professor Zhang Luoxin, the academic director of the Master of Science in Data Science and Machine Learning, I know that this master's program is jointly organized by the Department of Mathematics of the School of Science, the Department of Statistics and Applied Probability of the School of Computer Science, and the Department of Computer Science, with the strong assistance of the School of Engineering and Suruifu Public Health College, a strong teaching team can design and provide top courses in Asia and even the world for me.

In addition, for the Master of Science in Data Science and Machine Learning, what I am most looking forward to is that its curriculum structure adopts the mode of paying equal attention to theory and practice. For example, in the course of industrial big data introduction, I will be exposed to various problems of data analysis including data cleaning and data visualization; In industrial consulting and application projects, I will go to the company to do data analysis or join a scientific research group to engage in scientific research projects.
