After the site of Liangzhu Ancient City was listed as a world cultural heritage 10, many jade articles unearthed from the site of Liangzhu Ancient City gathered in the Forbidden City for exhibition. The quantity and variety of jade articles in Liangzhu culture have reached the peak of China's historical jade culture. Collected 260 collections from 17 cultural and artistic institutions across the country, and made its grand debut for the first time after the successful application for the legacy of Liangzhu ancient city site.
Liu Bin, the leader of Liangzhu Archaeology, said that the most important experience of Liangzhu site excavation is the parallel of archaeology and protection, which is an important basis for applying for world heritage.
On July 6th, at the 43rd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, the site of Liangzhu Ancient City was successfully listed in the World Heritage List, becoming the 55th World Heritage Site in China. 16 On July 6th, the 5,000-year-old civilization exhibition of ancient jade articles in Liangzhu and China opened in Wuying Hall of the Palace Museum. This exhibition collected 260 collections from 9 provinces and cities 17 cultural and artistic institutions, and made its grand debut for the first time after the successful application for the World Heritage.
The exhibition started from the Liangzhu culture period in the Neolithic Age, continued to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and ran through China for five thousand years. It systematically reflects the early national characteristics of Liangzhu civilization and its influence on later culture through four parts: introduction, kingdom of gods, civilization inheritance and conclusion.
Zhang Zhongpei, the late archaeologist and former director of the Palace Museum, once thought that Liangzhu site was the correct witness of Chinese civilization. Liangzhu culture is one of the most splendid cultural treasures in the history of China, and the unearthed cultural relics represented by jade articles are important bearing elements of the heritage value of Liangzhu ancient city.
Wang Xudong, president of the Palace Museum, said: The Palace Museum has long been concerned about the Liangzhu site, and there are also Liangzhu jade articles in its collection. The exhibition Liangzhu and Ancient China in the Palace Museum is an exchange and dialogue between the two world cultural heritages across time and space.
At the same time, the east and west exhibition halls of Wuyingdian exhibited the archaeological research and application history of Liangzhu ancient city site. In order to give the audience a better understanding of Liangzhu culture, Liangzhu Museum released the catalogue of "Liangzhu and Jade Exhibition of Ancient China's 5,000-year Civilization History". During the exhibition, Wuyingmen launched cultural and creative products related to Liangzhu culture with the exhibition.
Exhibitors in this exhibition include Liangzhu Museum, Palace Museum, Zhejiang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Zhejiang Museum, Shanxi Institute of Archaeology, Shanghai Museum, Nanjing Museum and other * * * 17 cultural and artistic institutions.
