Which jadeites are worth collecting?
Nowadays, jadeite has become an important collection category of oriental art. Jade collection requires collectors not only to have rich knowledge of literature and history and scientific appraisal knowledge, but also to have high appreciation taste. In the face of the upsurge of the jade market, collectors who entered the market for the first time were at a loss for a moment and didn't know where to start. However, some fallacies and heresies circulating among collectors, including the intentional or unintentional misleading of merchants, make the concept of jade collection more vague.

What kind of jadeite is worth collecting?

In recent years, in the art collection, the colorful collection-level jadeite has sprung up everywhere, the price has risen rapidly, and the number of jadeite collectors has also increased. However, many jade collectors may not know that the real collection grade jade is less than one tenth of all jadeites. The probability of less than one in a million is enough to make enthusiastic collectors walk on thin ice.

What is the appreciation rate of buying jade? What kind of jadeite can appreciate? As a collector, how can I choose a collector-grade jadeite with appreciation potential? This is the most concerned issue for many people who have just come into contact with jade.

Throughout the hundreds of years of history after Emerald entered China, Emerald has experienced three stages of rising value in China market.

The first stage was from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China. Jade entered China from Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty. At first, it was just a kind of jade, and the price was very low. But in the late Qianlong period, its value has far exceeded other jade species, even higher than Hetian jade, which has always been the favorite of the royal family. In just a few decades, the value of jade has increased by more than 1000 times.

The second stage is China's reform and opening up after 1949. During this period, the market changes of jadeite have been ups and downs, with great changes. In 1970s and 1980s, due to the rapid economic development in Taiwan Province Province and Southeast Asia, jadeite rose by 100 times. In the early 1990s, the price of jadeite products fell again, about 30% of the peak in the 1980s.

1995 In May, Beijing Guardian Auction Company auctioned a jade bracelet. The bracelet is round, large in diameter and very transparent. The color is lake green and there is no white cotton. What is even more rare is that there are no wrinkles, no cracks, no black spots and no flaws. As far as the age is concerned, it should be the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. The bracelet was resold to Beijing Jewelry Import and Export Corporation and appeared at the auction of Beijing Guardian Company. At the first professional jewelry auction in China, the bracelet was finally sold for 495,000 yuan. In the late 1970s, the price of bracelets was only about 2,000 yuan.

The third stage is after SARS in 2003, the whole art collection market has experienced explosive growth, jade trading is becoming more and more popular, and the price of jade raw materials has also reached a higher level. At the 40th Jewelry Fair held in Yangon from March 5, 2003 to March 23, 2003, LOT NO. 1172,92kg, which has been split into two pieces, with green belts inside and good seeds. The reserve price of this raw material was US$ 2.088 million, and it was finally sold at US$ 56.5438+million, setting a record for a single jade in Myanmar jade auction in the past 40 years. Now many experts are even more amazed. After 2003, the wholesale price of jadeite products began to rise sharply, and there was no room for bargaining before. If the price is not high enough, it means that the business will be lost soon-you don't want it, and there are still many buyers waiting to see the goods and give the price.

In 2002, Wan Ruixiang sold a cucumber with ice seeds at the Lufthansa counter. Its shape is light, its color is bright and even, and its texture is transparent. At that time, the price was less than 50 thousand. At the end of 2006, that is, four years later, there was another Cuigua with similar germplasm, the color was not as good as the previous one, and the shape was thicker. Finally, it was sold for 426,000 yuan. At present, a new wave of market has just started, and the future market will rise far more than ten times.

From the historical process of jadeite, we should be able to clearly feel its appreciation characteristics as a collection. So, are all jadeites appreciating sharply? The answer is no.

There is not much room for appreciation of most jadeites seen in the market, such as ordinary bracelets, bean seeds, jade flower pieces made in Gan Qing (referring to jade pendants) and flower pieces with thin shapes, with little price increase. In fact, the jadeite that really reaches the collection level is less than one tenth of all jadeites. In fact, there are quite a few jadeite raw materials produced, and those who have been to Myanmar jadeite "Gongpan" (Gongpan is an auction of jadeite raw materials held by the Myanmar government) will certainly agree with this view.

"Gongpan" was held in the Gem Museum in Yangon. Every palace dish is filled with jadeite raw materials in a field the size of two or three football fields, and piles of jadeite are endless. Each pile of jadeite is composed of two or three pieces to dozens of pieces. A large piece of jade can weigh several tons, but these materials are not good in texture, opaque, white, gray, black and other colors, and basically have no bright positive green. These materials are often referred to by vendors as "Zhuangtou materials", and some people simply call them "brick materials". In Myanmar, people do use this material to build walls. A piece of "Zhuangtou material" can be processed into thousands of jadeite products and flow into the market. Such jadeite products are what experts call "junk goods". The cost of "garbage" is very low, and the processing used is also the cheapest, but after it is sold to the market, its profit rate is the highest.

At the same time, there are several tables under the porch outside the museum. Compared with the endless "Zhuangtouliao" trading venue, several tables are really insignificant. These tables are filled with some delicious food on plates, the big ones are only a few kilograms and the small ones are only the size of candy bars. However, this is the real focus of jade trading. Only the raw materials with high color and good texture on the countertop are considered by experts to be the most competitive, and some can reach 100 times of the original reserve price. It is these rare, high-quality, high-value raw materials that have entered the market after processing and formed jadeite with collection value.

Due to the huge difference in the quality and rarity of raw materials, jadeite products also form huge value differences in the market. It can be said that the following jadeites are common in the market, but they are not worth collecting.

First, the opaque and delicate jadeite is not worth collecting.

Second, jadeite whose color is too dim and not bright is not worth collecting, including the "oil green" that northern collectors like very much.

Third, jadeite jade with particularly obscene processing technology is not worth collecting. Trivial technology often means that the raw materials themselves have many defects, such as cracks and cracks, which have to be covered up by technology.

Fourth, jadeite with incomplete and irregular shapes is not worth collecting. For example, too thin jade, too thin jade, too small jade, twisted jade. These jadeites are often simplified because the raw materials are not enough to make regular and full vessels, and their value is greatly reduced. This even includes jadeite whose auction price has reached several hundred thousand yuan in the auction market. Although the color is green, there are not enough seeds, insufficient transparency and thin objects. Although it has been twenty or thirty years, the price has not risen.

Then, the core point now is what kind of jadeite is the collectible jadeite with appreciation potential-

The so-called collection-grade jadeite, Wan Ruixiang has a definition, that is, under the premise of full and complete materials and correct shape, jadeite with bright and uniform color, delicate and moist texture and smart craftsmanship is the most valuable jadeite. The key to collecting jadeite is two words: choice. How to choose jadeite with a collection level of one thousandth to one thousandth is very important.
