Guilin Institute of Technology was founded in 1956. It was originally a single-subject geological college. From its establishment to 1977, it has been engaged in teaching in geological colleges. 1978, the school was upgraded to Guilin Institute of Metallurgical Geology and became an engineering college focusing on undergraduate teaching of geosciences. Due to the reform and opening up and the changes in social needs, the school-running direction of the college began to change from 1983, and the college entered a long transition period. From 65438 to 0994, the college was renamed Guilin Institute of Technology, which marked the development of the college to a multi-disciplinary undergraduate school. After years of hard work, the disciplines of the college have covered five categories, 14 secondary categories, 36 undergraduate majors and 20 master majors. Professor Ruan Baiyao, doctoral supervisor, is currently the vice president of Guilin Institute of Technology. Leader of Earth Exploration and Information Technology, a key discipline in Guangxi. Professor Luo: Currently, he is the director of the Institute of Concealed Deposit Prediction of Guilin Institute of Technology, the deputy director of the Department of Resources and Environmental Engineering, and the tutor of master students. He has been engaged in the teaching of geology, geochemistry and geochemical exploration, presided over and undertaken more than 20 geological research projects, published 2 academic monographs and published more than 30 academic papers in academic journals at home and abroad. Won the Silver Hammer Award of China Youth Geological Science and Technology and the honorary title of Guangxi Excellent Expert. Professor Feng Zuohai is currently the deputy director of the Department of Resources and Environmental Engineering and a postgraduate tutor. He has devoted himself to the research in the fields of granite structure, ore-forming structure analysis and environmental geology for a long time, presided over and participated in national projects including the national key basic research and development plan (national "973" plan), and published 55 academic papers and 2 academic monographs in Chinese core journals. Wu Hong, researcher, tutor of master students. He is currently the director of the Institute of Remote Sensing Application of Guilin Institute of Technology, and a peer review expert of remote sensing //GIS project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. As a visiting scholar, he went to Berlin Technical University in Germany to carry out Sino-German scientific research cooperation and published a monograph on remote sensing /GIS in Germany. Professor Zhang Liangju is currently the director of the Jewelry Education and Testing Center of Guilin Institute of Technology. Yu Hengxiang, researcher, master tutor. Deputy Director, Institute of Concealed Deposit Prediction, Guilin Institute of Technology. Driven by a large number of professors and doctors and influenced by a strong academic atmosphere, the Department of Resources and Environment has formed a good learning atmosphere. 1. Resource exploration project
This subject is the earliest established subject in our college, and it is also the main subject in the discipline group of geology and mineral resources. 1995 was listed as the first batch of district-level key disciplines in Guangxi. During the 20 years from the Sixth Five-Year Plan to the Ninth Five-Year Plan, he undertook various scientific research projects in Guangxi, the whole country and even Sino-foreign cooperation. He has won the national special prize for scientific and technological progress and the first prize for scientific and technological progress of the State Education Commission. 2. Environmental engineering
The discipline of environmental engineering is developed on the basis of geological discipline, and has a rich multidisciplinary support system. 1993 based on geochemical exploration, undergraduate majors in environmental engineering and water supply and drainage engineering were set up. In 2000, through multi-disciplinary horizontal joint declaration, it became the first batch of units in Guangxi to successfully declare the right to grant master's degree in environmental engineering. Since 1996, we have been engaged in 62 projects in Guangxi, such as water environment prevention, water resources protection planning and design, environmental geology, etc., including Guangxi Science and Technology Department and Education Department 12 project, 3 national natural science foundation projects, 25 local government projects and 22 applied research projects, with a total research fund of 8.36 million, and 40% of the research results have been transformed into productivity. The overall goal of the development of environmental engineering discipline is to adhere to the horizontal combination of multiple disciplines and vigorously develop scientific research and personnel training in the fields of water resources protection and sustainable utilization, solid waste treatment and disposal, environmental geology, water pollution control engineering and so on. 3. Exploration technology and engineering
This discipline is one of the earliest key disciplines established by Guilin Institute of Technology. The main objects of exploration technology and engineering are water, soil, minerals and other resources and related geological and geographical environment. It covers applied geophysics, applied geochemistry, hydrogeology and engineering geology, exploration engineering and other disciplines and related majors. Since 1996, this discipline has undertaken 3 national natural science foundation projects, 4 national "973" projects, 4 Guangxi natural science foundation projects, 7 mandatory and special fund projects of 1 former Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources and Nonferrous Metals Corporation, 7 national key projects and 60 other scientific research projects. In the long-term discipline construction and development, the Department of Resources and Environmental Engineering has carried forward the advantages of geology, geophysical exploration, geochemical exploration, hydrology, environment and other disciplines, and achieved a number of domestic advanced and partially international leading achievements in comprehensive geophysical and geochemical exploration, geological environment management, water resources protection, water pollution control and solid waste treatment and disposal. 1) Institute of Concealed Deposit Prediction: Founded in 1984, its founder and first director is Professor Yuan Kuirong, an internationally renowned geologist, gemologist and doctoral supervisor. Professor Luo, the current director. The Institute is the first professional research unit in the national geological system engaged in the prediction of granite and concealed deposits, and now has 20 full-time and part-time researchers. There are 5 researchers, 7 associate researchers and 7 assistant researchers. Through the practice of 18, the theory and method of concealed granite prediction and deep prospecting put forward by the institute have been gradually improved and enjoyed a high reputation at home and abroad. 5) Institute of Environmental Engineering Technology: The Institute of Environmental Engineering Technology was established in July 1993, with strong technical force, and has obtained Grade B qualification certificate of national environmental engineering water pollution special design, which can undertake sewage treatment engineering design and carry out various engineering consulting and technical services in the field of environmental technology. Over the years, we have achieved a number of influential academic achievements and won provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological progress awards. The new technology of treating high-concentration monosodium glutamate organic wastewater won the national invention patent.

Foreign scientific and technological academic exchanges are very active. At present, it has established academic exchanges and friendly exchanges with nearly 20 countries and regions.
