Ma Chongren, a geological expert, is a professor at China Geo University (Beijing), enjoying special government allowance from the State Council, former deputy director of China Jewellery and Jade Geological Society, and former secretary general of China Gemstone Association.

He is also the former secretary-general of China Jewelry Industry Association, director of Geological Society of China Jewelry and Ornamental Stone Branch, former president and professor of Beijing Jewelry Research Institute, and former vice president and professor of Jewelry College of China Geo University (Beijing).
