[Russia and Soviet Union] Gamzatov

You're still sleeping, I get up before dawn,

Open the door in front of the court early,

Flowers, trees, sunrises without mountains-

I want to see what you will encounter first.

I want to see if the swallow is squatting in the nest.

You have loved the song of this bird since you were a child.

I want to see if mustard powder pollutes the spring water-

You should drink it and flow to this stream.

I want to check: Is the sky Ming Che?

Do you want to wait for the Woods to bloom?

I want dew, don't fall in a hurry,

Because you, honey, are still awake.

I think in this early morning,

Nature is a gift shop,

Leaning against the counter, I thought about it,

What do war girls love and what gifts should they choose?

..... I chose the highest cliff among the cliffs,

I chose the curved route where the eagle circled,

I chose this dawn for girls,

I am happy: it seems that I have painted a colorful dawn myself.

You wake up with a smile,

You open the window twice, like a bird spreading its wings,

The whole world catches your eye,

Just like I found it for you.

Poplars come to you in droves, like a green wall.

The mountains also show a more vivid appearance.

The sunrise I saw,

The afterglow of the setting sun is shaking in your palm.

But I still have self-esteem and modesty.

Looking at your happy expression, I pretended not to care,

It seems that this has nothing to do with me,

The world is so beautiful not because of me.

(translated by Wang Naiqi)

Gamzatov (1923-), a Soviet lyric poet, was born in a remote mountainous area in Dagger, Russia. Before writing poetry, he worked as a teacher, actor and journalist, and began to publish poetry collections from 1943, including The Year I was Born (1950) and Above. Most of his lyric poems are set in the mountain village of his hometown, with love as the content, vivid and delicate description, true and natural expression, attention to absorbing artistic nutrition from folk songs, and distinctive national characteristics.

"You are still sleeping ..." is a love poem with novel content, delicate feelings and fresh and beautiful artistic conception.

This poem is written for the lover in the poet's heart. The poem does not point out the name of the lover, nor does it have her beautiful image. However, as you can imagine from the poet's deep affection, this is a beautiful, warm, brave, pure and kind awar girl. The poet wanted to give her something to show his love. But what does it offer? Pretend to be modest and say something sweet? Don't! There is no truth in this. Send diamond rings and jewels? Don't! Can true love allow these vulgar things to be desecrated? What is her favorite gift, a girl from a mountain village in awar? The poet knows that "nature is a gift shop", and the best gift is from this nature shop. But "what gift should I choose?" The poet finally realized: Why not give the girl a "dawn" of Shan Ye when she wakes up, and let nature open her heart to convey her deep love.

Poets should "paint" colorful dawns with their own hands. He got up before dawn, "opened the front door early" and wanted to "see" everything about "dawn": "Is the swallow squatting in the nest"-she likes to listen to this kind of bird singing since she was a child; "It is dust mustard that pollutes the spring"-she wants to drink by this spring; He wants to check: "Is the sky bright? /Do you want to wait for the trees to bloom? " And "don't show off in a hurry" because she is still "awake". In this colorful dawn, the best gifts chosen by the poet are "the highest cliff among the cliffs" and "the winding route of the male bird hovering". The poet imagined that when his lover woke up, he opened two windows to welcome the magnificent scene of the whole dawn: "Poplars swarmed around you, like green walls,/the mountains also showed more vivid appearance,/I like the sunrise,/the afterglow of the sunset shook in your palm." Through the poet's description of nature, we can not only appreciate the scenery of the poet's hometown of Shan Ye, but also strongly feel the unrestrained, brave and heroic character of young Awa men and women, as well as their yearning and pursuit of pure and sincere love.

This love poem is novel and unique in terms of material selection and conception.

The feelings and experiences of love are extremely rich, and the expressions and expressions of love are also varied. Many love poems do not express their feelings directly, but indirectly through some media. In this kind of poetry, what kind of object is used as the medium is often related to the aesthetic effect of poetry. This poem gives people a brand-new feeling by depicting the natural world in Shan Ye at dawn as a medium of emotional transmission. From this medium to the emotional fluctuation it conveys, it is full of vitality and vitality.

This poem also embodies the poet's cordial, delicate, vivid and natural characteristics of writing feelings and scenery. By getting up early, the poet must "see through", "I want to see" and "I want to check" everything before dawn, until he imagines that she can see everything he put into her eyes when she wakes up, which fully expresses her deep and meticulous feelings for her beloved. The description of natural scenery is no exception, because the brushwork is delicate and cordial, and the flowers, trees and dew in the spring described by the poet have maintained a natural and vivid appearance.
