1953 at 9 o'clock in the evening of July, thick clouds hung down, the world was dark, and the weather was stifling. In a flash, thousands of cannons of the volunteers suddenly roared in silence. From the north of the Han River in the east to Xiaganling in the west, smoke billowed from enemy positions within dozens of miles. In just 28 minutes, 1900 tons of artillery shells poured on the positions of the South Korean Capital Division, the 3rd Division, the 6th Division and the 8th Division. This kind of ammunition dumping was unimaginable for the volunteers at the beginning of the war. This is also the largest shelling of the volunteers by North Korea. " According to American military history, the 20th Corps broke through the enemy's position in only 1 hour, and five armies of the 20th Corps launched an avalanche attack on four divisions in South Korea from Jincheng area. The first trump card of the Korean army, the capital division bears the brunt. This division claims to be the most capable in South Korea, and its first regiment is the oldest army in the history of the Korean Army, nicknamed "White Tiger Regiment". After fighting all night, at dawn, the volunteers looked at the sky, with dark clouds and heavy rain, and the American plane could not come. Yong Yang, who fought a bayonet with a Japanese officer, decided to break away from convention and attack during the day. More than twenty China tanks rushed up again after taking part in the midnight battle, and launched continuous attacks with infantry during the day. In the face of wave after wave attacks by the East, West and East attack groups of the 20th Corps, the South Korean army was completely defeated, and all around Jincheng was wiped out by our army. Four divisions in South Korea suffered a devastating blow. Volunteers' troops pointed directly at Seoul, and the rapid attack of South China Army made the already contradictory US and South Korean armies more acute.
