Why should Shanghai dig a drip lake?
The pilot project of land reclamation in Shanghai was originally the East China Sea, and later it was gradually filled as land. Because it forms a drop of water, it is called a drip lake.

Dishui Lake is an artificial lake excavated by reclamation on the beach that has not yet formed land. The lake is circular with a diameter of 2.5 kilometers and a total area of 5.56 square kilometers. Construction started on June 26th, 2002 and was basically completed on June 6th, 2003. According to statistics, the project * * * excavated17.8 million square meters, which is equivalent to the total volume of Jinmao Tower 15.

The supporting water conservancy project of Dishui Lake includes three chain rivers, namely Chunlian River, Xialian River and Qiulian River, and seven radial rivers, such as Chifeng Port, Orange Port, Huangri Port, Lvli Port, Qinghong Port, Lanyun Port and Zifei Port, as well as the outlet sluice of Dishui Lake, the diversion sluice of Luchao River, the sluice of Huangri Port and the sluice of Lvli Port, forming a water conservancy system with flood control, tidal resistance and free drainage.
