The seeds peeled off from the fruit balls were wrapped in gauze and placed for 3 days, then soaked in a glass jar at about 25 degrees for 1-5 days until they germinated (the seeds were completely submerged by water on the first day, and a small amount of water was kept at about 1cm on the second day, and the jar was covered with transparent plastic sheets to keep moisture), and then they were placed in a breathable plastic basket filled with a thickness of/kloc-.
After 30 days of accelerated germination, the seeds have grown long young roots and leaf sheaths. The interval is 1cm, the leaf sheaths are exposed in the same direction in the flowerpot for close planting, the temperature is kept at 20-27 degrees (about 25 degrees), the illumination is suitable, and the water is sprayed regularly according to the humidity. The picture below is a photo taken 60 days after planting.
Note: Clivia has a variety of sowing methods, but the materials are easy to find, the technical difficulty is not great, and the emergence rate is high. There are two methods: river sand sowing and sawdust sowing. Sowing river sand is to wash river sand with clean water, put it in boiling water for disinfection, and then put it in a container for leveling. The seeds are arranged on the sand surface at a spacing of about 2 cm, with the bud eyes facing down and covered with a thin layer of sand. Sawdust sowing is to fry or steam sawdust with moderate thickness in a pot and put it in a container with a thickness of 7 cm to 10 cm. Bud eyes are downward, the spacing is the same as before, the seeds are covered with sawdust, and the container mouth is covered with film or glass.
The key to moisture retention and heat preservation of Clivia seeds after sowing is to have suitable temperature and humidity conditions and environment. River sand has strong water permeability and poor water retention. If it is found that the humidity of the basin surface is not enough, it should be watered or sprayed immediately to keep the water content at about 40%. Sawdust has strong water seepage and water absorption, so it should be watered or sprayed once a day to keep the sawdust moist.
The way to grow flowers lies in mastery. If you don't know flowers, you can't grow them well. Clivia is shade-tolerant, and likes humid and cool environment. Summer planting should avoid the big sun as much as possible,/kloc-above 0/5 degrees and below 25 degrees, which is most suitable for its growth. In winter, we need to consider how to create a warm environment to make it safe for the winter.
How to choose a flowerpot? Clivia is a famous flower, but the more exquisite the flowerpot, the better. Although the lowest vegetarian flowerpot looks not beautiful enough, its air permeability is not comparable to that of ordinary flowerpots. For the root of Clivia, air permeability is the most important. Old flowerpots that have been used for many years have poor air permeability, so they should be soaked and cleaned before use, and then exposed to the sun.
Charcoal can be bought in the street, 2 yuan 1 kg. You can go to a secluded place in the park, especially a place where few people clean it, look for black soil scattered into mud, and then mix it with gravel, coarse sand and charcoal to increase air permeability. Add some rotten bean powder.
When the soil is ready, it should be disinfected and exposed. It can also be packaged in plastic bags and sterilized by microwave oven at high temperature. This kind of soil is suitable for newly planted Clivia, with soil changed in the middle.
