Shenzhen No.2 Middle School is located at No.6 Dongmen North Road10/KLOC-0, Luohu District, Shenzhen. It is a first-class school in Guangdong Province, a key middle school in Luohu District, the first batch of "national model high schools" in Guangdong Province, and a prestigious school with a long history in Shenzhen. The school was founded in 1964, formerly known as "Shenzhen Town Vocational Middle School"; 1968 was renamed "Wuqi Middle School"; 1979 was renamed "Shenzhen No.2 Middle School" and 1985 was renamed "Shenzhen Cuiyuan Middle School". The name of the school comes from the fact that there used to be a large bamboo forest here. 1998, during the administration of President Xue Jinlong, Shenzhen Cuiyuan Middle School merged with Yijing Middle School at that time and established junior high school. In 2007, under the management of two principals, Zhonghe Liu, the school established the East Campus, which is also a junior middle school. In 2009, the International Department was established in the headquarters building B, which was the first school in Shenzhen to offer AP courses.
